About me

My Work:

I am a registered nutritionist based in Exeter but I also offer online Zoom consultations for those elsewhere in the UK and overseas.  I work with patients with a variety of health issues, including autoimmune, hormone balancing and weight management. I adopt a holistic, functional medicine approach to all my patients, looking at lifestyle, diet, and health, including mental health and full medical history.

I offer a wide range of diagnostic tests and health screening, hormone testing, genotype testing and microbiome tests as well as a range of allergy and food intolerance testing.   Testing is an excellent way of solving more complex issues with faster outcomes, however, for those who have limited funds, they are not always essential.

I am also a specialist in the low-carb way of eating, working with GPs to help patients with metabolic health issues.

Tests include:

  • Gut Health - from the Microbiome, Parasites, SIBO, H Pylori or Calprotectin and more - GI Map, CSAP, Comprehensive Stool testing.
  • Food Intolerance and Allergy Testing via serum or dried blood samples
  • Nutrition & Antioxidant Profiles
  • Genotype Testing (DNA)
  • Homocysteine (Heart Health) and HbA1c
  • Thyroid and adrenals, including Cortisol.
  • Hormones including Fertility, Oestrogen balance, Testosterone, Dutch Test, Adrenal Testing, HbA1c and more
  • Autoimmune, Viral & Infections, including Lymes, EBV
  • Environmental Pollutants, Organic Acids, Heavy Metals
  • Liver & Kidney

I have a very down-to-earth, practical approach to all nutritional programmes and this has formed the backbone of my busy clinic, offering practical solutions, tips, and lifestyle advice.   It is really important to make all new diet regimes real for every patient - spending time not just on the programme, but also on the practical application, helping them gain the best results.

I specialise in hormone imbalance, insulin resistance, metabolic health, autoimmune conditions and gut health.

I am also trained in CBT which helps bring an understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of my patients.

Please feel free to call me to chat about your requirements and how I can be of help. You can also book a free 15-minute Zoom chat direct on my website.

I am passionate about promoting healthy eating and cookery to all ages and love teaching children to cook and eat well. I work with a number of schools, educating children and parents with fun (and often messy) cookery classes. I work with organisations such as SugarSmart and was an Ambassador for Jamie Oliver Food Revolution.

Workshops and Presentations

I am also busy with corporate health and cookery workshops.  I also offer one-to-one and group cookery classes.

National Press

I appear in national news regularly, writing for the Daily Mail, Healthista, Top Sante and more. I am a regular on her local BBC radio (BBC Radio Devon), advising and responding to any food and health news.

Author

I adore writing and have been fortunate to have written and published 25 books. I am currently working on new books for 2024!

Recipes for Health

My work as a nutritionist and author of cookery and health books, means I am regularly creating new recipes to suit a range of diets. I share these on my many Facebook pages as well as my website.  I am also starting to venture into cookery videos - watch this space!  Give me a follow on TikTok and Instagram.
