What are cookies?

Cookies are pieces of information that include a unique reference code that a website transfers to your device to store and sometimes track information about you. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently.

A few of the cookies we use last only for the duration of your web session (these are called session cookies) and expire when you close your browser. Other cookies (called persistent cookies) will last for longer, as they are used to remember you when you return to the site.

Many computers and some mobile web browsers will automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can change your browser settings to prevent them from accepting on your behalf, or to notify you each time a cookie is set. Please note, however, that by blocking or deleting cookies, you may not be able to take full advantage of the site.

How do we use cookies?

We use first-party and third-party cookies for several purposes. First-party cookies are mostly used to ensure the website functions correctly, and they do not collect any of your personally identifiable data.

The third-party cookies we use fall into two categories: statistical cookies that help us understand how the website performs and how visitors interact with it, and advertising cookies that help us provide relevant adverts and measure campaign effectiveness.

Statistical cookies used to understand and improve our website may be set without prior consent under the UK Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, provided you are given a simple means to object. Advertising cookies require your consent.

Third-party cookies we use:

Further details about the main suppliers we use and links to their privacy information can be found below:

This helps us improve the site and the services we offer. These cookies are used solely for statistical purposes and do not identify individual users. Advertising measurement is handled separately through Google Ads cookies, which require your consent.

How do we categorise cookies on our site?

Strictly necessary

Necessary cookies are required to enable the basic features of this site, such as providing secure log-in or adjusting your consent preferences. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable data.

Statistical cookies

Statistical cookies are used to collect aggregate information about how visitors use our website, such as total page visits, traffic patterns, and bounce rates. This helps us improve our site and the services we offer. These cookies use pseudonymous identifiers (random numbers, not names or email addresses).

The data is used solely for aggregate statistical analysis and is not used to identify or make decisions about individual users. Under the UK Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (section 112), statistical cookies used to improve a service do not require prior consent. However, you can opt out at any time using the cookie preferences button at the top of this page, or via your browser settings.

Advertising cookies

Advertising cookies are used to provide visitors with customised advertisements based on the pages you visited previously and to analyse the effectiveness of the ad campaigns.
