Our editorial process
Exploring the wellness industry and learning more about diet and nutrition can be a tricky process. At Nutritionist Resource, our mission is to make it easy. From providing you with accurate, evidence-based information to helping you connect with trained professionals, our mission is to:
- explain when nutritional support can help
- highlight the importance of working with professionals
- share how to find the right help
We do this through the content on our website, including our A-Z health section, our Types of professional section and our Expert articles section. You may notice we create video content, too and downloadable PDFs.
How we create our content
The content on our site is either created or monitored by our talented editorial team. This team mostly writes our information pages, enlisting our members (nutrition professionals listed on our site) to offer expert reviews. We also publish articles written by our members, giving you expert insight into your nutrition questions. All articles are proofread, vetted and guided by our in-house team.
Collaborating with our members alongside a robust research and proofing process means our content is accurate, trustworthy and primed to reach the right audience.
Our editorial standards
We maintain high editorial standards to ensure you can place your trust in us. Whatever type of content we make, we keep the following in mind:
- ensuring that language is free of jargon and easy to read
- checking that any claims made have evidence to back them up
- keeping terminology inclusive to represent all readers
- making sure information is accurate and up-to-date
The editorial team strive to stay on top of new research and industry changes, reviewing our information regularly. We also warmly welcome any feedback, capturing any suggestions or corrections, and reviewing them as needed.
Writing and editorial style
We want to be a clear and friendly voice amongst the sometimes confusing wellness landscape. This means we use a positive tone in our writing, offering easy-to-understand suggestions and signposting to further reading where needed.
We write using inclusive language to ensure we reach a broad audience and welcome anyone and everyone to the nutrition community. Health information should be accessible to all, and it’s a passion of ours to help make this a reality.
Use of imagery
We know how helpful the right image can be (and how unhelpful the wrong image can be!), so we are dedicated to choosing imagery with purpose and intention. We steer away from stereotypes and seek out more realistic representations where we can.
Inclusivity is an important element here too, ensuring we represent the brilliantly diverse society we live in.
What’s our stance on AI?
AI is being used more in more in everyday life, but when it comes to creating information, we remain human-first in our approach. This means AI can be used as a tool to help refine information or support idea generation, but any piece of content is written by humans and has human intervention at every stage of the production process.
