About me

Hello, I’m Karen, a registered nutritional therapist and certified health coach with a special interest in women's health, teenage nutrition and nutrigenomics.

I work with and help busy women to get their energy back, improve their digestion, tackle weight and hormones and take steps towards healthy aging.

As a mum of three, family nutrition is a key part of my tool kit for helping women prioritise their nutrition, whilst also considering their family's needs.  I provide practical information such as shopping lists, time saving tips and recipes as well as using my scientific knowledge of nutrition to help you incorporate advice into your daily routine, in a realistic and practical way.

Qualifications & Professional Membership

As a qualified nutritional therapist, I am a member of BANT and registered with the CNHC.   I also hold a Psychology degree and have trained to be a Certified Health Coach, and Lifecode GX trained Nutrigenomics practitioner and continuously undertake relevant CPD.

To find out how I can help or to arrange a consultation, contact me to set up a discovery call.

Services on Offer

Consultation Packages

Offering a holistic nutrition service.  We can start to work together to tackle your specific health needs over two or more consultations and address issues such as digestion, low energy, hypothyroidism, weight gain, midlife hormones, histamine intolerance, prediabetes and blood sugar imbalance, heart health, bone density, urine infections, menstrual cycle concerns and many other female related concerns.

Nutrition Check In

I can also meet with you for a one off Nutrition Check In, where we can cover questions you might have regarding the best foods to eat for your stage of life, with a food based focus.

DNA Testing & Packages

DNA services are also available and involve an introductory meeting and test selection followed by a consultation to provide feedback and recommendations on test results.

Consultations - Timeframe & Location

I work with clients over a 2-3 month period or more, usually meeting every three to four weeks with support between sessions.  Programmes and timings can be tailored to meet your individual needs and budget.

Consultations are available online during the week or face to face on Saturdays at Colchester's Manor Health and Wellness Centre.

Consultations - What to Expect

I believe in a balanced approach to life and I apply this to my practice.  I work with you as an individual, personalising consultations and nutrition advice to ensure that you receive a Nutrition Plan that best suits your needs, which is also achievable and appropriate for your lifestyle and budget.

I aim to make you feel at ease from the outset, by really listening, acknowledging and getting to grips with the issues at play, employing health coaching skills to help you identify and achieve your goals and to break down barriers to change.

You won’t feel hurried along in consultations and there will be plenty of time to ask questions.

As part of my holistic service I work in cooperation with GP’s and health care professionals where appropriate and I can recommend and analyse private tests as part of the consultation process including stool, hormone and nutrition testing.

I'd love to hear from you.

Karen

Further information

As a nutritional therapist, I combine my love of good food and natural healthcare to help my clients thrive and achieve their health goals, which for me is just the most fantastic job to be doing.

I decided to train in nutritional therapy after successfully using food and supplements to support both my own and my children's health and I have personally tackled gut health issues and histamine intolerance.

I enjoy helping clients to feel at their best through food and lifestyle medicine changes, but also appreciate the importance of pharmaceutical drugs and therefore continuously undertake professional pharmacology training to support clients.
