Karen Maude Nutritional Therapist DipNT mBANT CNHC BA (Hons)
Hi, I’m Karen Maude a registered nutritional therapist at Balanced you nutrition practising in Essex and online, offering one to one and shared consultations.
I enjoy seeing clients with a wide range of health needs, but have a particular interest in gastrointestinal issues including reflux, fluctuating stool patterns and gastric pain. I regularly help women tackle problems such as hot flushes, weight gain and fatigue especially related to hormonal imbalance.
I decided to train in nutritional therapy after successfully using food and supplements to support my own gastrointestinal issues which included gastritis, reflux, histamine intolerance and shortness of breath using the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) and low histamine diet on different occasions.
I'm passionate about helping clients to feel at their best through food and lifestyle medicine and am trained to work with individuals taking a number of medications with complex medical needs. My personal experience of having a medically complex child means I have dealt with a number of chronic conditions over decade including gastrointestinal, respiratory and blood sugar management issues within the NHS.
As a mum of three, I believe in a balanced approach to life and I apply this to my practice. I have extensive training and experience and use this to personalise nutrition plans for clients based on their health needs and goals and I ensure that my plans are practical, affordable and achievable for everyday life, to ensure results.
My goal is to help my clients feel at ease when we meet. My approach is to really listen, acknowledge and to understand a client's issues and goals and by working on this level, I can support them with a plan truly tailored to their needs, to help them feel at their best every day.
I can see clients face to face or in the great outdoors using walking therapy for those who feel more relaxed in a non-formal setting. I can also meet with you online using FaceTime or Skype. I will work in cooperation with GP’s and health care professionals where appropriate.
To find out how I can help, email me or call me on 07842150751.
To arrange a session together, again email me at email@example.com or call me on 07842150751 and we'll organise a suitable time and place to meet and I'll then forward you a food diary and health questionnaire to complete before our consultation.

Clients who choose this option prefer a less formal setting for their consultation and enjoy combining physical exercise with nutrition. This form of nutritional therapy also enhances feelings of wellbeing.
Walking therapy is perfect for mothers with young children who can bring them along in a buggy or sling, avoiding the need to arrange childcare, ticking the need for fresh air and exercise at the same time!
