Hello. My name is Julie.
I am a registered Nutritional Therapist, Naturopath, Homeopath, Yoga Therapist with training in Functional Medicine. I have been working in integrated health care since the year 2000. I have published two books: one on yoga for birth, and one on yoga for mothers and babies. I have experience of working in the NHS and appreciate the value of working holistically. I am passionate about nutrition, naturopathy and functional medicine and everyday it’s power to help people still amazes me.
I strongly believe in lifestyle medicine and in digging deep to find out what has led a person to ill health or lack of vitality. My job is to listen very carefully to your life story and to work out what has led you to get to where you are today, making a plan with you to improve your health and vitality using nutrition, lifestyle changes, nutritional supplements if required, mindfulness, relaxation and breathing techniques to combat stress, all which can help you see the world in a new light.
I am committed to helping you stay healthy and where possible avoiding health problems. This will take work but the rewards are huge. By building a strong and resilient you you will be able to take on what ever is thrown your way.
I am a DNA life practitioner which means I am trained to work with DNA Life (Nordic Laboratories) health reports and offer guidance in optimising health. We now know that genes are not our destiny but the environment we live in can switch our genes on or off. So basically, what you eat, how you sleep, relax, exercise, whether you are happy or not, all can influence whether you may get the health problems which may run in your family. Some people find this helpful and motivating whilst other prefer to work on basic nutrition and lifestyle changes based on a case history and health questionnaire.
This may sound overwhelming but by either using a one off health MOT or a longer six weeks health plan we will work towards improving your health and mindset for a healthier and happier you.
My interests include immune support, pregnancy care and support, women's health including hormonal issues, menstrual and menopausal challenges, sexual health for men and women, fertility, autoimmune conditions, stress, low mood, cognitive challenges, working with teenagers, weight challenges, sleep issues, feeling fed up or simply wanting to get healthy and feel happier.

"I first went to see Julie because of frequent health issues, which I experienced up to 3 times a week, which I was managing with medication. I was also quite stressed and suffering from in my joints. Julie took a full history on the first session and within a few days had provided me with lots of advice on diet, supplements and lifestyle, specifically tailored to my health problems which I was able to start putting into practice immediately. Straight away my symptoms reduced in number and severity and I have been able to stop taking my medication altogether. I also feel much calmer, my joints have improved significantly and I have more energy. Julie is such a knowledgeable practitioner and is very warm and compassionate and I’m so grateful for the help and support she has given me. When I look back to how I felt 3 months ago when I had my first appointment with Julie I am amazed at how much my health has improved." - Alison
