Hello, I'm Ailsa Hichens - Registered Nutritional Therapist, Health Coach, nutrigenomics (DNA) specialist and author of Everything They Told You About M3nopause Weight Loss Is Wrong.
I help women in their mid 40s, 50s and beyond get their health back on track when their body suddenly seems to have different rules. Like:
Weight that suddenly will not shift.
Energy that disappears by mid afternoon.
Bloating that makes getting dressed frustrating.

Midlife Method: My signature 12 week programme with 6 consultations. Designed for women who want a complete reset of their metabolism, energy and weight.
WellWoman: A focused 6 week personalised programme with 3 consultations. Ideal if you feel broadly well but want to optimise your health and future-proof midlife.
Midlife Audit: A single 60 minute strategy session on Zoom. Perfect if you want expert eyes on one specific issue such as weight loss, bloating, blood sugar or energy.
Advanced testing options: For deeper investigation when needed, including Lifecode GX DNA (nutrigenomics), DUTCH hormone testing, Genova GI Effects stool testing and food intolerance testing. Each test includes a full interpretation session so you understand exactly what the results mean and what to do next.

Training, qualifications & experience
Dip ION Diploma in Nutritional Therapy with distinction at the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition. I am also a Certified Health Coach and Lifecode Gx Nutrigenomics practitioner. I attend regular professional seminars relevant to menopausal and midlife women's health, thyroid health, IBS/ digestive health problems and longevity, to keep up to date with the latest scientific research in my specialist areas.
I have extensive personal experience experience of living through perimenopause while spinning a lot of plates and dealing with more than the normal amount of life stress. I'm now post-menopausal. If you're not even sure which way is up anymore, I get it!

Member organisations
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including massage, aromatherapy and nutrition.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy is the professional body for Nutritional Therapists. There are different BANT membership classes, including Full Member, Fellow Member and Student Member. All BANT practitioners must have met the required standards of training, be fully insured and adhere to the BANT Code of Ethics and Practice.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Nutritional therapy combined with coaching is a very personal approach. Your previous medical history, and any current symptoms as well as what you like and don’t like, not to mention your personal circumstances are really important when I make a plan for you. It is personalised just for you. That takes both time and skill. You could download something from the internet – if you knew what you were looking for – but it is not the same.
