Hello, my name is Helen Auburn, I was born in London and lived in Hampstead. My father decided to move to Swindon where he was head of foreign languages at Commonweal school, until he retired. I have two lovely children.
I trained at the prestigious Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) in London. Five of my family members have PhD's (three from Oxford) with three working in the field of medicine. John Auburn, the UK director for Astroscale (space debris) is one of my brothers. As one client said “You’re cleaning bodies & he’s cleaning space!”
I am a Functional Medicine Registered Nutritional Therapist working with men, women and children. Mild & severe bowl issues, fatigue, hormonal, change of life symptoms, low mood & skin issues are the most common symptoms clients seek my advice for.
Why trust me? I've been recommended by GP's, a Consultant and staff at Great Western Hospital (GWH), as well as psychologists, physiotherapist, personal trainers, an optician, hairdressers and beauty therapists.
I provide equality of services and care to everyone, regardless of people's age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.
I’m in The Midult & feature at number six - Bowel Hero, in the Directories section. The Midult was founded in 2016 by two top, female journalists, Annabel Rivkin & Emilie McMeekan. I was personally invited to be in their directory (no cost to me), as I’ve treated someone whom is known to them.
Based in Swindon and with more than 20 years of experience treating people with a range of health issues, I see clients at a private premise in the centre of Swindon, easily accessible from surrounding areas, including Newbury, Cirencester, Chippenham, Marlborough, Gloucester and Oxford.
I love what I do! I work with men & women who have debilitating symptoms & want to improve their health, boost their energy and learn to love their body again. Children greatly benefit from eating correctly. I use nutrition and health coaching to help YOU become the healthiest and fittest you can be!
Making sure we eat the right foods for us, in the right way, is the basis of good health: being aware of our diet and tailoring it to our bodies’ needs is one of the most powerful tools available for the prevention and treatment of illness, supporting the natural healing process.
Consulting with a holistic, functional medicine-trained Registered Nutritional Therapist can be the first step towards investing in your long-term health and vitality, helping to create a new, healthier YOU!
The Benefits of Nutritional Therapy
Our bodies run on the food we eat: it’s our fuel. Making sure our food is right for us, of the best quality and prepared in the right way can have a big effect on how we function in our daily lives, at work, or emotionally in family or personal situations. Nutritional Therapy can help find the right balance in the way we approach our lives, ensuring we work to our optimum potential throughout the day.
Nutritional therapy advice, helps you to understand and make changes to the kinds of foods you eat and can help with many conditions that have been medically diagnosed.

For as long as I could remember, I struggled with weight loss. I tried all sorts, but nothing stuck. Then in recent years, my energy level got so low. I was getting desperate. Helen came highly recommended, by someone I knew through work and since then, I have never looked back. Helen made me feel so comfortable during our consultations and her wealth of knowledge made me feel I could trust everything she said. I am only at the beginning stages of my program, but I am already seeing amazing results in how I feel, and how my body is changing. Helen has been a great support and been there for me when I've had questions or facing a challenge. Working with Helen was the best decision I could have made for my health and I am so thankful for her and can't wait to share with her the end results." ~ Abigail Strickland, former Whatley Manor Spa Manager
"Working with Helen to look at how I could change my eating in order to feel better has been life-changing. I was having a lot of issues related to hormonal changes and they have all without exception improved now that I have changed my diet. She is incredibly supportive and her advice is extremely well-informed and up to date. ~ Dr. Sharon Harvey, Chippenham
"Helen really knows what she is talking about. The help, advice and support, I received from Helen, was absolutely life changing, because it completely transformed my health and my whole life. I was eating healthily, as far as I was aware, so I didn't understand why I felt so bad, all the time. I was also finding it hard to conceive, at this point, but I was doing everything the books were telling me to do. I couldn't understand it, and being a nurse, I felt I knew something wasn't right. I went to see Helen, as a last hope. I followed the new diet and supplement protocol. After following the diet and supplement protocol, for several months, I started to notice unbelievable, and incredible improvements, to my overall health. The difference was amazing, and unbelievably, at the end of completing the protocol for six months, I also managed to fall pregnant, which to be honest, I had kind of thought, would never really happen, again! I would say it's been a complete life changing journey, and an absolute revelation, to be able to understand what my problems were, and to be able to take control over my problems. Helen gave me all the support I needed through the six months, and she always answered my questions, of which there were many! And even though they felt like silly questions, Helen never made me feel like they were. The whole experience has completely changed my life for the better, to the point, where I am inspired to do a nutritional course, in the future. I thoroughly recommend anyone, to see Helen. Follow the protocol, and it will seriously change, not only your health, and well being, but your whole life! It has been worth every penny. In fact, you can't put a price on it! It's invaluable advice, and be prepared to change some of your ideas of what we are told about our health, and nutrition. The most incredible advice, I have ever had! Thank you so much, Helen." ~ Charlotte Hitchen RGN, Chippenham Update: October 2018 “I gave birth to a healthy, happy, full term baby girl. I have to say, it was a very easy and smooth labour and birth. Probably, the easiest & nicest birth, I’ve ever had. I think that’s testament to the nutritional advice given by Helen. It was also a very healthy pregnancy. I felt energised, even at the very end when previously, with my other children, I have felt very tired and worn down, towards the end. Helen was always there, if I needed any advice, or I had any questions. It was a huge support for me. Thanks so much Helen, for all your amazing advice and support, throughout.” ~ Charlotte Hitchen RGN, Chippenham
“When I asked Helen for nutritional help, I had been told by my GP, that I should be prescribed statins, which I was reluctant to take, having researched the harm they can cause. I knew that taking a better approach to my diet and health would be the best option. Helen’s professional advice, excellent knowledge and great support, made following her protocol, easier than I thought it would be. I would highly recommend Helen, as my cholesterol level has fallen in just 3 months (following an independent pharmacy check) having strictly followed the protocol, she specifically designed for me. The protocol developed by Helen, has also helped with increased energy levels and reduced sugar cravings! On the whole, a completely different approach to the food I eat.” ~ Simon, Swindon
"I contacted Helen Auburn to improve my diet, general health, and advance my performance at elite level sport, in cycling. The service, continual support, and advice gained from Helen, is simply invaluable. Helen listed all the foods and supplements required to drastically improve my diet, performance, and overall well being. For me, this simply removes the tedious guess work, wondering if I'm eating and supplementing correctly, as an individual.
Helen has always been there to help me, no matter how many questions I've needed to ask. I would certainly recommend her to anyone seeking a highly professional and friendly nutritional therapist." ~ James Wilson, Newbury
I first saw Helen, about 17 months ago. The impetus to see her, was the fact that I had been diagnosed with an illness, a year, or so before. I had already started to take proper exercise to combat the condition, but I knew I needed much more, including in particular, a complete change of diet. I think it was one of those irritating celebrity post holiday diets, which spurred me to get proper knowledgeable advice, and so I went to see Helen. She was so professional, looked at my situation in great detail, and gave me some extremely sensible, and practical advice. Having taken on board what Helen advised, I put it into practice. As a result, over the following year, I lost 42kg! Furthermore, my drug dosage has been reduced by half already, and the next time I visit the doctor, probably in a month , or so, I hope I will be able to come off the drugs completely. This achievement has been accomplished in no small part, as a direct result of Helen's advice.
Finally, over the night of 24/25 June 2017, I participated in The Ridge Walk over 52 miles, for Sense, a charity supporting those with sensory deprivation and Rubella. This was not something I could have even dreamed of doing, when I first saw Helen. I was the oldest participant in the 52 mile walk, and coming in at 17 hours and 3 minutes, I was the 11th finisher out of 62!" ~ Nicholas, Marlborough
