About me

Is your health getting in the way of you living a fulfilling life? Is a chronic health condition dragging you down? Are you fed up with feeling tired or listless all the time? Not sure what to do about getting your health back on track?

I work with my clients to give them greater understanding of how and why their bodies and/or minds are not behaving in a balanced manner. This understanding then serves as a foundation from which dietary and lifestyle adaptations can be integrated and tailored to each individual client. Some testing and supplementation may also serve to support you in achieving your health goals.

Gut health is at the core of how I work. Nutrition impacts directly on gut integrity and the significant benefit is that the effects are systemic. You truly are what you eat, with a dash of what you mother ate!! Digestion is about absorbing nutrients and excreting toxins; if one of these processes is not functioning properly, it's not surprising that you could be deficient in nutrients or riddled with toxins. How about if both these processes are compromised? Would that be enough to throw your body and/or mind out of balance?

Chronic health issues are often preceded by poor diet, nutrient deficiencies, dietary or chemical intolerances, toxic exposure (incl. heavy metals, pesticides), infection, antibiotics and stress. Symptoms can appear suddenly or over many years as these factors can accumulatively take their toll on the body and the mind. Initially, it may begin with fatigue or loss of motivation but depending on your bio-individual make-up or genetic predisposition, any number of symptoms may arise... think digestive complaints, autoimmunity, hormone imbalances and metabolic or mental disorders.

Are you curious to learn more? Would you like to know how best to support your health with diet and lifestyle?

Book  a free 20 minute health check-up via my website. I can then send you out my extensive questionnaire, to which your answers will help give me an understanding of your case history and your health goals, and I look forward to supporting you in achieving those health goals.

Best wishes until then, Jamie

I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complimentary & Natural Health Council (CNHC). To further my professional development and keep myself up to date, I regularly attend conferences and courses on the latest developments in the field.

Bio

I developed a skin condition at the age of 14. Throughout my 20s I was hospitalised either as an outpatient or inpatient, twice per year. Eventually, I was prescribed two strong drugs (cyclosporin & methotrexate) to suppress the condition so I could lead a more normal life. Although my skin did improve, three years later I had lost my motivation and I struggled to focus on anything of substance. I decided to stop the medication completely. This marked the beginning of a shift in my perception. Once the medication was stopped, so did the suppression of my condition. I began seeking solutions from Ayurveda to spiritual healing. It wasn’t until I tried fasting that I started seeing any results. This led me to look into gut health and Nutritional Therapy.

I studied at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London to further my understanding of my own health problems and learn how I could help others. I also took additional training in nutrigenomics which taught me that the medications I was taking are contraindicated with my genetic disposition. Having regained my own health, my mission is to support the health of others. The core of this approach is by way of nutritional science and lifestyle medicine.
