Karen Swindall MSc, mBANT, CHNC Registered Nutritional Therapist & Health Coach
My name is Karen Swindall and I'm a Registered Nutritional Therapist and Health Coach - my job is giving my clients the information, motivation and courage to make changes to their diet, ultimately improving their overall health and wellbeing.
I specialise in supporting both men and women who are 40+ and are noticing changes within themselves.
Many clients have come to me frustrated that before they could eat anything, now the body complains with bloating, reflux and gut issues. Some have found recently that even though they are trying really hard to lose weight, the scales are still heading in the wrong direction.
For many women 40+ they are now facing hormonal issues such as hot flushes, night sweats, irregular periods or no periods, lower sex drive, varginal dryness, mood swings, fatigue, gut issues or feeling depressed.
As a Registered Nutritional Therapist, I help my clients to understand how nutrition works in supporting the underlying processes in the body which may be contributing to their health issues.
Each client receives:
- A 90 minute 1:1 first consultation where I go through your past and present health history, your lifestyle, medications (past & present) and your food diary.
- Specific foods they may need to introduce or increase on such as fruits and vegetables or foods they need to reduce or remove like as sugar, dairy, gluten or processed foods.
- Handouts on the benefits of certain foods
- eBooks with lovely recipes making it easier to incorporate changes to one’s diet.
- Supplements that they may require for short periods of time, and the reasons why.
- Recommendations on clinical tests and interpretations, if applicable
- Health coaching sessions
- Lifestyle recommendations.
- Email support
Where do the sessions take place?
From the 19th July I will being seeing clients in my consultation room at home. I will also continue to work online through Zoom/ WhatsApp/Skype or phone calls with clients further a field or those that wish to.

Information about health conditions (*)
Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.
I do offer an initial (90 minute) consultation with a follow up (60 minutes) that takes place between 4 - 6 weeks later (Fee £180). However, I don't recommend them as it takes time to change eating habits. I want my clients to optimize their health and reach their goals. This is why I offer packages either 10 weeks or 12 weeks this gives me the opportunity to fully asses what my clients needs and requirements are, support them through coaching and by putting together a personized programme just for them.
I also do home visits, shopping and cooking tutorials as these can all be very helpful in making lifestyle changes for your health.
In order to ensure we find the right way of working for you, I would like to invite you to a no obligation wellness consultation, where we will discuss your health issues or concerns and the options available.
You can call me on 07806 611282 or send an email here to arrange a time that's suitable for you, or if you would prefer, you can book a time directly through my website here: https://bienestarcomplimentaryhealthreviewscheduleing.as.me/
Fees for 10 week programme starts at £250
Online Private Practice through Zoom or WhatsApp Monday - Saturday located in WR2: 07806 611282
I met Karen at a very low point beaten by long term conditions and approaching my 50's. Karen really listened to me building up history from childhood to date to advise a controlled approach to increasing supportive foods and eliminating problem ones.
Over a number of sessions, I would say I have presented Karen with many challenges and she has researched these meticulously, offering detailed solutions.
My life in 9 months of working with Karen looks very different. I no longer have a bad relationship with food, my long term conditions have improved sufficiently for me to take a regular programme of exercise and I have lost a significant amount of weight. I now have excellent blood sugar and cholesterol results and have eliminated any weight risks.
In summation, I have gained precious time and an improved life working with Karen and would highly recommend her services to those looking to make better health choices.
I visited Karen a few months ago, feeling tired; having many painful head issues and just generally feeling low. Karen helped me to get some blood tests for general health testing along with some food allergy/intolerance tests. With the aid of the results and Karen’s patient understanding and knowledge, I was able to adjust my diet.
In just 6 weeks I have lost 10.5 lbs in weight, feel more motivated and have hardly any painful head issues. Its almost too good to believe as I didn’t even think my painful head issues were related to my diet. I am truly thankful that I sort the advice from Karen who has proven to be the best professional help I could ever have wished for. I just wish I had taken the plunge earlier.
"I approached Karen as I really needed help. I had read that poor diet can contribute to my condition and symptoms, which had been deteriorating for some months. Karen really took the time to listen and research my condition and gave me recommendations that were personally tailored to me and my lifestyle. She helped to plan a practical way forward and gave me great tailored advice on supplements, diet and overall my food approach. Through Karen's guidance I learned how to understand food and how my body works with food. After a couple of weeks, I already started to see improvements to my energy and wellness levels. I cannot recommend Karen enough to anyone looking for bespoke nutritional advice and would like to thank her for her patience, understanding and knowledge. The difference it has made to how I feel now - physically and mentally is outstanding!"
