About me

I am a BANT Registered Nutritional Therapist, Nutrigenomics Practitioner and Naturopath with over 15 years experience.  Based near Market Harborough, Leicestershire, I see clients face to face or via Zoom.  I also work at a Private GP practice in Leicestershire.

With a background in Natural Health spanning 30 years, I studied for 4 years The College of Naturopathic Medicine, graduating in Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathy.  My BANT accreditation requires me to complete at least 30 hours of on-going training per year, and my thirst for knowledge usually results in at least 50 - 60 hours.

I recently completed Practitioner and Advanced training in Nutrigenomics with Lifecode GX, leaders in Genetic Testing.  Unlocking the secrets of your DNA allows us to see how your genetics may be influencing every aspect of your health and well-being.  For example your response to food, how you process and absorb nutrients, your mood, hormones, energy levels, ability to detox, and your predispositions towards certain illnesses can all be influenced by your genes.

Nutrigenomic/Genetic Testing is therefore now at the heart of my practice. The information about your unique genetic strengths and weaknesses can allow me to create a truly personalized programme to help you achieve your health goals.

I also work with several leading Functional Laboratories to provide a range of testing that looks at the "here and now".  There are many tests available which we can discuss at your consultation but the ones most commonly requested are:

  • Food Sensitivity Test - Professional, practitioner level testing using a blood sample to assess reactions to foods.
  • Comprehensive Stool Analysis - identifying imbalances in the gut which may be impacting health throughout the body
  • Total Thyroid Screen - assessing all thyroid hormones (not just TSH) plus thyroid antibodies
  • Comprehensive Adrenal Stress Profile - the impact of stress on cortisol, DHEA and SIgA levels
  • Metabolomix/Organic Acids Test - a helicopter view of the major processes in the body
  • Functional Blood Chemistry - assessing key markers for your health
  • Basic Nutrient Testing - such as Vitamin D, B12, Iron, Folate.

Please see my website for details of packages available.  Tailor made packages are also possible.

Regardless of the package you choose, you will leave your consultation with  clear recommendations about foods to include or limit to help with your concerns, suggestions for healthy meals, and guidelines on how to live a healthier life.  I may also recommend nutritional or herbal supplements (at extra cost although my clients get discounted rates with my suppliers).

Follow up appointments and progress checks will help keep you on track.
