Elisabeth Carlsson N.T Dip CNM, MBANT, RCNHC
I am a qualified Nutritional Therapist and graduated from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London. In a session, we will review your current and past health and lifestyle in detail and you will receive a personalised plan with realistic goals to support you. I'm down to earth and passionate about showing you simple and practical ways of eating for robust health, function and longevity. A few changes to your diet could help a wide range of conditions such as weight management, fatigue and low energy.
I am particularly interested in balancing womens hormones and improving metabolic health. I also show people how to improve their resilience to stress and ensuring good sleep, digestion and energy levels. A lot of clients ask me about weight loss and this is something I can help with but my main aim is always first to get you back to balance, energised and with a restored vitality. When you get healthy, weight loss will follow. I am particularly interested in working with people who want to quite dieting and show them how to get back in control and clear up any confusion about food and eating.
As I am a parent and have a busy life I understand the difficulties and worry about childrens health and what they are eating. Working with me can reassure you going forward and feeling confident, not confused, with looking after your family's health.
I am continually questioning and researching current guidelines and things that are 'accepted wisdom' to the benefit of my clients to help you understand how your body functions optimally and take charge of your health and well being.
After years of study I have realised that what you read in the media about health is very much far from the truth. My clients leave with more choice, not less and are amazed at the food choices that I give them and how much better they feel by eating them.
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is based on a Functional Medicine framework, which addresses the underlying causes of disease by treating the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. The framework uses a personalised approach that empowers patients to take an active role in their own health, and offers a powerful clinical model for assessment, treatment and prevention of chronic disease.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed a three year course at College of Naturopathic Medicine that includes 200 hours of clinical practice, the highest amount to any accredited diploma. I also completed a six month course in Biochemistry at ION.
I am registered and regulated by The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT); and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
I contribute to publications writing on health, wellbeing and mindfulness.
I am also the author of The Lagom life published in July 2017 by CICO Books
I'm originally from Sweden but now have made London my home where I live with my family.
"After years of inexplicable migraines with a very upset stomach which became impossibly frequent a few months ago, Elisabeth put me on a wellness plan that has cleared my problem completely. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and experienced, she also really cares for her clients. I received all the nutritional information I needed to get well naturally plus recipes and tips about excellent supplements and their suppliers. I felt and continue to feel well-supported to be healthy and stay that way. Highly recommended."
