About me

My name is Susan Wilson and I’m a Registered Dietitian and member of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) & the British Dietetic Association (BDA).

I originate from Ireland and I came to Scotland eight years ago to study a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics in Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.

I am an experienced Dietitian having worked in a variety of settings. I spent a year working in Newcastle Upon Tyne in a hospital enjoying a variety of specialities such as care of the elderly, oncology, weight management and gastroenterology especially around the areas of IBS, Crohn’s disease and coeliac disease. I then came back to Scotland where I began to specialise in mental health and eating disorders for children and adults.

Treating eating disorders and disordered eating is my passion. I like to provide a tailored approach to recovery rather than one size fits all. We will discuss a range of other factors aside from diet such as lifestyle habits, your schedule and body image.

Lastly, I pride myself on empathy and understanding. I genuinely want to help people find the best possible recovery plan for them.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 14 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
