Training, qualifications & experience

Norma Bridge, a Nutritional Therapist with over 15 yrs of clinical experience, graduated from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) in London and the University of Bedfordshire in 2006. ION is recognised as one of the foremost nutritional institutes in the United Kingdom.

Although her training has covered all areas of health and nutrition, Norma's experience has mainly focused on digestion and gut health, such as IBS, SIBO, Candida, dysbiosis and leaky-gut. In addition to digestive problems, she also works with improving metabolic function, which covers energy production, insulin resistance/sensitivity and weight-loss.

In the past, Norma has tutored with Premier Global Trowbridge and CNM College of Naturopathic Medicine Bristol where she taught clinical skills to nutritional therapy students. In addition, she regularly provides workshops and seminars at a corporate level as well as local clubs and groups.

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including massage, aromatherapy and nutrition.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

BANT
British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT)

The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy is the professional body for Nutritional Therapists.

There are different BANT membership classes, including Full Member, Fellow Member and Student Member.

All BANT practitioners must have met the required standards of training, be fully insured and adhere to the BANT Code of Ethics and Practice.

First consultation: normally is £100, depending on time required

Includes:

  • In-depth analysis of your medical history, lifestyle and diet
  • Explanation of your health issues
  • Discussion of useful laboratory tests
  • Creation of your 1st phase personalised programme

Diet and lifestyle changes are negotiated with you to ensure they are achievable and sustainable. Vitamin or mineral supplements are often recommended to accelerate the healing process.

Follow-ups: pro-rata

The initial programme is reviewed and progressed through follow-up consultations to acheive yout health goals. Duration and frequency are tailored to your needs and charged pro-rata.

Post-Test Consulation: £75

Includes test interpretation and explanation, with diet, lifestyle and supplement  recommendations based on findings.

Laboratory tests are available at an additional fee.
