BRAIN FUNCTION, MOOD, STRESS/TRAUMA, BURN OUT, MENTAL ILLNESS, FATIGUE, CHRONIC PAIN, HORMONES, METABOLISM/WEIGHT MANAGEMENT, ADDICTION & EMOTIONAL EATING, BLOOD GLUCOSE IMBALANCES AND GUT HEALTH

Has it been a long time since you felt full of vitality? Do you feel burnt-out, run-down, tired and wired? Are you suffering with a mood disorder? Do you feel you can’t handle stress well anymore, have sleep issues, can’t concentrate and feel irritable, on edge, panicky and fatigued?

Maybe you are experiencing a complex chronic condition which you don’t feel doctors can provide the answers or adequate treatment for. Or perhaps you are struggling with  hormone or thyroid issues? Severe PMS? Or maybe hormonal symptoms in your 40's and 50's ? Have exhaustion or chronic pain after a virus or a traumatic period?

Can’t lose weight around the middle? Do you have bloating, gas, reflux or other unpleasant gut issues?

Kirsten, the brain health nutritionist has been in practice for 18 years and has much expertise in her specialisms. For more information -see my website.

Kirsten’s areas of expertise include:-

-   All manner of mood disorders and mental illness in adults & teens., plus neurodiversity. And also mood disorders during times of hormonal flux- for example during pregnancy and the post-partum period, in the premenstrual-period and during perimenopause. See website for details on nutritional pscyhiatry and Kirsten's own recovery story.

- cognitive issues, poor memory and brain fog

-   Stress-related conditions such as burn-out and fatigue and its associated symptoms such as poor sleep, irritability, agitation, poor stress tolerance and so on

-   Gut issues including gas, bloating, change of bowel habits, reflux, gastritis, SIBO, IBD. Attention to the gut is always paramount when you are trying to optimise brain health

-   Complex chronic conditions including debillitating fatigue and chronic pain conditions

-   Female hormonal problems including PMS, PMDD, menstrual pain and other symptoms, perimenopause and so on.

 -  Weight-loss & stubborn and unexplained weight issues including suspected or diagnosed thyroid problems. Cravings and emotional eating.

-  Raised blood glucose, fat around the middle (including the redistribution of fat in perimenopause) cardiovascular health

I also have expertise in creating bespoke plans for vegans and vegetarians.

And as a busy 48 year old mother (doing well in perimenopause!) with two energetic (but delightful!) boys, I also know the demands of modern life, and find it very rewarding helping people under stress and/or with stress-related and mental health conditions, having been very poorly after having my first son in 2010, and also having had post-viral fatigue in 2007, which left me temporaily bed ridden.

Nutritional therapy with Kirsten- THE BRAIN HEALTH Nutritionist is ultimately to address the root of the problem, instead of just treating symptoms. And just as no two people will have the exact same issues, no dietary programme will be exactly the same, I will tailor an individualised dietary programme (emailed to you after the first consultation) taking into account your situation, budget and lifestyle. My approach is sympathetic and warm, as I genuinely care deeply, having helped hundreds of people over the years.

Testimonials from my patients (more on my site)

“I was suffering from panicky feelings for a couple years and although counselling sessions helped a little, it didn’t completely solve the problem. I knew my diet wasn’t well balanced but I never thought it would have an impact on my mood and sleep. Kirsten has prescribed me a number of supplements. I’m so bad at taking supplements religiously but I gave it a try. About 3 weeks into taking them I was sleeping so much better. Almost one year later and I haven’t had those feelings! Pandemic and all!!! Also, I reckon my crazy PMS mood swings have also levelled considerably. I couldn’t recommend her enough.’’ Y. Mills

“I have suffered with gut issues in varying forms for well over thirty years. Kirsten arranged laboratory stool testing for me which identified several imbalances and with this knowledge was able set up a staged dietary plan which also included gut supporting supplements to treat an overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria and inflammatory issues. I now suffer no longer and thank Kirsten for relieving me of my daily fight with gut discomfort.’’ Steve, Forest Hill

“I’ve had astonishing results from my sessions with Kirsten. The almost immediate effects of some tweaks to my diet and the supplements she has put me on have taken me from napping every single afternoon for ten years [from chronic low energy issues], to not napping at all ever. I’m so grateful for having this time back. I have also experienced a huge reduction in back and leg pain and my restless leg syndrome seems to have also disappeared. I would highly recommend Kirsten’s very carefully thought out and entirely bespoke advice." Daisy Fletcher

“I contacted Kirsten after a series of distressing miscarriages whilst trying to conceive our second child. She put me on a tailor-made supplement protocol and addressed some dietary imbalances. I now have a second daughter and am very grateful for her help. She is also very kind and caring.’’ SC

“I started using Kirsten's services about 5yrs ago after many visits to consultants and GPs who couldn't offer me much in terms of help with my brain fog, fatigue and feeling a bit panicky. I didn't want to go down the anti-depressant route as I prefer to tackle things naturally where possible. Since following Kirsten's advice I now feel like a completely different person. Kirsten has a wealth of knowledge and expertise and is always keeping up to date with the latest information. I now see her services as an invaluable part of my long-term self-care plan and would highly recommend her refreshing approach to health.’’ V. Sinkinson

I would like to thank you for your help in getting me back to good health. My digestion has improved and my gut too- no more sore/inflamed feeling, just feels normal. I have learnt a lot and therefore I can manage my stress and eating habits better. I have no more concerns towards food because I feel that I am well and so more confident. Thank you!" L Tomas

The process

* Get in touch to book a consultation or make enquiries.

*Or alternatively you can first book a free 15 minute telephone chat via my website, where we can establish your needs and I can answer any questions you may have.

* Once you have booked the initial consultation, you'll then receive a confirmation email, directions (if you are coming in person) and a questionnaire, to be brought with you filled-out, or emailed back, so we can hit the ground running.

* In the initial consultation (1 hour 30 mins), we talk about your objectives, and we go through your questionnaire in more detail and look at areas such as your eating habits, lifestyle, medical history and any obstacles you feel you have in making dietary changes. We then explore what your plan would entail and particular changes are recommended. I take into account what is realistic for you.

For more information about what I do- please see https://www.eatyourselftohealth.com/

The nutritional plan

You will be emailed an individualised plan within 48 hours of the consultation, as part of the first consultation fee.

I aim to to provide a realistic and effective nutritional plan, providing meal plans, and also shopping lists and recipes, if required.

The follow up

A follow up session is normally 3-6 weeks later.  I geniunely recommend at least a minimum of 2 consultations (follow ups takes 45 -60 mins) to see how you are responding, make adjustments, arrange any tests (if appropriate) and monitor weight loss (if appropriate or desired- I have scales that provide a lot of detail, should you wish to be weighed) etc.

Some people require more frequent and regular sessions but it depends on your needs and budget.

I can also help navigate the maze of which supplements you should or shouldn’t be taking, precribing you a bespoke plan (with a discount) having worked for a reputable supplement company for 5 years.

So if you are looking for an experienced nutritionist and health coach in London, get in touch.  I also carry out many consultations online.
