About me

My focus is to share with people who, like me, get frustrated when advised to take medication by their doctor or specialist rather than looking at ways to address the root cause of their symptoms.

The mission is to help people understand there is another way by making small tweaks to current food and lifestyle choices that will impact their overall health.

I became a nutritional therapist to overcome an eating distress disorder that developed as a teenager in the pursuit of perfection to control my life.

After many years of trying every diet to find happiness, I eventually realised that improving my metabolic health by balancing my blood sugars, cleansing the liver and supporting my gut microbiome was the key to managing cravings, stopping binge eating and obsessing about dieting to find happiness.

I don't have a significant weight loss success story to share. However, I have experienced the consequences of excessive dieting and exercising on my metabolic health as I managed my back injury.

As a self-employed nutrition and skin therapist, I needed to continue to work in my clinic as I waited for my operation to remove the slipped disc.

This was a pinch point in my life that completely changed my sense of purpose and, to this day, was the best thing that happened to me.

Even thou I ate healthily every day, it exposed my behaviour of restrictive eating and exercise in an ongoing attempt to mask my eating distress disorder. I was still hiding the underlying cause.

The only way to move forward and break free from the cycle of dieting whilst recovering from my injury was to understand the root cause of my habits and behaviours and use my nutrition and exercise to heal my body instead.

There was no way I was going to gain weight or take painkillers - so I had to find a way.

I was determined to manage my pain through the power of nutrition rather than relying on painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication.

This meant I had to go back a step to discover WHY I had an eating distress disorder and what would trigger the overeating episodes. It was not just about what I ate, which is what I believed as a nutritional therapist.

I had to identify WHY it was important to me and what internal fears and pain points were getting in the way of me consistently feeling I needed to be restrictive with my eating to be in control!

As a result, I have developed methods to break free from the dieting mindset, restrictive eating, the need for perfectionism, and to be in control by creating a Health Success Path.

It sets out a straightforward path to transform how we think and feel about ourselves by improving our metabolic health to improve energy levels, sleep better, balance hormones and gain a positive body image.

I have converted the methods to an online program. I share the importance of understanding how nutrition is essential to our future health and that we are all individuals, so not ‘one size fits all’.

As I am passionate about inspiring people to look beyond the 'quick fix' and take control of their health by taking a natural approach so that they can regain balance and improve their quality of life.

I believe finding the balance between healthy eating and enjoying life without restriction is the secret to optimal wellness and slowing down the effects of ageing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I attended University in London with ION [Institute For Optimum Nutrition] to achieve a foundation degree in biochemistry to become a registered nutritional therapist.

I graduated in 2012 and have continued in clinical practice to date.

During lockdown, I created a nutrition coaching members club to follow and implement the Metabolic Reset Methods that contain the Metabolic Diet Plan.

The Metabolic Diet Plan is an online course to help clients learn how to create a nutrition plan for themselves.

Taking the main principles of focusing on metabolic pathways and my functional nutrition approach of addressing the root causes of your everyday symptoms such as steady weight gain, poor sleep quality and low energy.

The focus is on balancing blood sugar hormones, cleansing the liver, and improving the gut microbiome to reset metabolic pathways by following the progressive metabolic phase adaptions to an ideal meal template and six simple rules that clearly indicate what to eat and when.

I share my personal and professional experience within my Metabolic Health Club, which is for those who want coaching and support to learn how to implement the Metabolic Reset Methods.

Further information

From a client...

I found Jen informative and professional, she explains everything really well, especially how my skin and diet are interlinked. I knew it but didn't want to hear it. I was in a place in my life where I knew I needed to make some changes, but lack the motivation to take the leap.  Jen was there at the right time, I am five weeks into my journey and I am delighted I went for it.

Call it chance or luck, I believe Jen was what I had been waiting for. She educates, supports, and motivates. If anyone is seeking advice I'd encourage you to reach out to Jen. I have met many professionals and Jen does what she says, take her hand and let her do what she does best.

I'd never heard of her before last month, but having met her I put my trust in her. She's down to earth and honest. I feel empowered and alive, more motivated than I have in a long time.

Jen has been the support I needed when I needed it.
