About me

Gut health specialist Dietitian Cristy Dean launched Fettle & Bloom Nutrition to provide tailored, expert and dedicated support to those with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and related gut health conditions. After graduating from University with a first-class degree in nutrition and dietetics, Cristy spent many years working in a range of NHS gastroenterology ward settings, specialist IBS clinics, university research centres and in the digital health arena.

Having seen the devastating effects of IBS on patients and the lack of specific support they were receiving, Cristy has since dedicated her career to supporting patients with complex gastro-related illnesses, such as small intestine bacterial overgrowth, intestinal methane overgrowth, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, food intolerances and Coeliac disease. Cristy empowers people through proven, evidence-based strategies that can greatly improve their diets, health, lifestyle and general wellbeing.

As well as running her own clinic, Cristy writes on gastroenterological (gut health) topics, provides nutritional support in the management of complex gastrointestinal patients in her hospital role, educates adults on nutrition, and has assisted with pioneering clinical research into the role of dietitians helping to support people with the management of type 2 diabetes.

In keeping with the growing trend in Women’s Health, Cristy has fully educated herself to provide specialist assistance for those who are affected by the symptoms caused by the menopause, and thus ensued a role as a menopause trained dietitian.

Cristy is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Dietetic Association, and is a member of the Freelance Dietitians Group, and gastroenterology specialist dietitian groups.
