About us
Welcome to Plena Health!
We specialise in supporting women who are struggling with aspects of their hormonal health – whether it’s menstruation, pre-conception or pregnancy.
So many of the problems we encounter at these stages of our lives are the result of hormonal imbalances, aggravated by poor nutrition. But they can be solved by Fixing Your Nutrition First. Visit our website to what we can do for you! 💚 https://www.plenahealth.co.uk
Training, qualifications & experience
Danielle is a registered nutritionist with over 20 years’ professional experience as a practitioner in fertility, pregnancy and nutrition. She holds an honours degree in Traditional Acupuncture and an MSc in Applied Human Nutrition, and has extensive knowledge of biology, anatomy, pharmacology and supplements.
She completed a Postgraduate qualification in Holistic Nutrition, and as part of her Master’s degree, she researched infertility, food intolerances and gut disturbances (IBS). She has also undertaken professional cooking and food safety training and continues to update her knowledge and skills with professional development courses, seminars and conferences.
Yvonne began her career in the NHS as a senior medical laboratory scientific officer in the biochemistry department. This was followed by three decades working for a leading diagnostics company, with responsibility for the Maternal Fetal Health division, dedicated to identifying new biochemical tests to identify women at high risk of adverse outcomes of pregnancy, for example pre-eclampsia.
She has represented the diagnostic industry, for the past 5 years, on the FIGO NCD committee (International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Non-communicable diseases), during the development of guidelines for hypertension, hyperglycaemia and nutrition in pregnancy.
