About us
I am Lauren Wallis, BSc (Hons), MSc, a Functional Nutritional Therapist and registered FNTP practitioner with a background in nutritional biochemistry, medical molecular biology, genetics and metabolism. I am trained in functional medicine-informed nutrition through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and specialise in personalised, physiology-led support for complex and persistent health concerns.
I work primarily with women experiencing hormonal and metabolic changes including fatigue, weight fluctuations, poor sleep, low resilience, brain fog, bloating, blood sugar instability, thyroid-related symptoms and stress-related health patterns.
Many of my clients come to me feeling frustrated after being told their blood tests are “normal” despite continuing symptoms. Others feel stuck with ongoing low energy, digestive discomfort, difficulty managing weight, fluctuating mood, disrupted sleep or reduced resilience despite trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
My approach focuses on understanding what may be contributing to symptoms beneath the surface. This can include looking at stress physiology, blood sugar regulation, hormone patterns, gut health, immune function, nutrient status and broader metabolic health patterns.
I support clients with areas including:
Hormonal and midlife health changes
Weight management and metabolic health
Emotional and stress-related eating patterns
Thyroid-related symptoms and fatigue
Bloating, bowel irregularity and gut health
Food sensitivities and histamine-related symptoms
Brain fog, poor sleep and low resilience
Blood sugar balance and energy regulation
I have been studying and working within nutrition science since 1997, with over 25 years immersed in nutritional biochemistry, metabolism and clinical nutrition. I combine detailed case analysis with appropriate testing where indicated, including hormone and cortisol testing, thyroid and wellness blood panels, microbiome analysis and broader metabolic health assessment.
My approach is evidence-informed, structured and highly individualised, focused on supporting long-term resilience across hormonal, digestive, immune and metabolic systems rather than restrictive or generic plans.
I work with clients across Bedfordshire, the UK and internationally via online consultation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am Lauren Wallis, a highly qualified nutrition professional with a strong academic foundation and a functional medicine, physiology-led approach to health.
My qualifications include:
• BSc Nutritional Biochemistry University of Nottingham
• MSc Medical Molecular Biology University of Westminster
• Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach - Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM)
• Diploma in Living Nutrition (DipCLN) - College of Living Nutrition
I have over 23 years’ experience spanning nutritional science, molecular biology, metabolism and applied clinical practice. Alongside my clinical work, I have an extensive background in the nutraceuticals industry, where I consulted with leading brands on the design and development of targeted supplement formulations. This hands-on experience gives me in-depth understanding of ingredient selection, therapeutic dosing, bioavailability and product efficacy, which I apply when creating personalised protocols for my clients.
I run my own practice, Lauren Wallis Nutrition, where I combine functional testing, personalised nutrition and lifestyle strategies to support complex and chronic health concerns, including digestive dysfunction, fatigue, hormonal imbalance, metabolic dysfunction and weight-loss resistance. My work is rooted in functional medicine principles, with a clear focus on identifying root causes and delivering sustainable, evidence-informed outcomes.
In addition, I integrate functional breathing and nervous system regulation into my work and am trained in Oxygen Advantage® breathwork. This allows me to support clients with stress physiology, fatigue, sleep quality, exercise tolerance and metabolic resilience, recognising the role that breathing patterns, CO₂ tolerance and autonomic balance play in overall health.
My approach is analytical, individualised and realistic, bridging nutritional biochemistry, systems physiology and behaviour change to support long-term health and resilience.

info Information about health conditions (*)
Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.

Additional information
I offer a range of consultation options depending on the level of support you’re looking for.
Most clients begin with an initial functional assessment, where I take time to understand your health history, current symptoms and any existing test results. These are brought together to make sense of what’s going on in your body, identify key patterns, and clarify what may be driving your symptoms.
From there, I offer tailored, personalised plans, ranging from foundational support to more in-depth, full clinical assessments and whole-systems mapping, depending on the complexity of your case. Each plan involves thoughtful strategy and plan development, translating insights into clear, practical steps to support your health goals. This may include nutrition, lifestyle and other targeted recommendations, where appropriate.
All work is individualised and designed to be realistic, evidence-informed and relevant to you.
