About me
'... the most powerful weapon again disease in the 21st century [is] your fork.'
Dr Mark Hyman
It was after I felt let down by my own ill health that I decided to train as a nutritional therapist. I had always been interested in food, lifestyle and wellbeing and wanted to unlock the potential that we have every day in the choices we make. These seemingly insignificant choices such as how we live our lives and what we put in our mouths are in fact immensely powerful. There is so much we can each do to restore balance in order to live a full and happy life.
I take a holistic view of health because lifestyle medicine is key alongside dietary choices. Adjusting food choices, building resilience to stress, the use of functional testing and supplements all have great potential as effective approaches towards progress and healing.
I work with people with a range of health issues. My particular areas of interest are in supporting the digestion and women's health.
Where to start
I offer a FREE CHAT first of all, so I’d be delighted if you made contact to talk about your current situation and what I can offer you.
When I work with someone new, I gather a thorough health history to look at your whole story. This can start to reveal who you are and the root causes, drivers or mediators of the issues you are experiencing.
I then develop a nutrition and wellbeing plan informed by your individual situation and preferences. This is very much tailored to you and your circumstances while also looking at any barriers to change. Nutritional therapy requires engagement and collaboration and I am here to motivate, inspire and support you along the way in order to meet your health goals.
I often suggest functional testing which can reveal valuable information about what is driving and compounding symptoms.
I offer nutritional therapy coaching, packages and consultations so book in for a chat to see which would suit you best.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained and qualified with a Diploma in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy after three years of studying with The College of Naturopathic Medicine. This course included two years of supervised clinical practice.
Since I qualified I have been
- seeing private clients
- delivering trainings to staff of care provisions including a group of independent specialist colleges across the UK
- running talks and workshops including making sauerkraut and kimchi
- working with local food enterprises
As a full member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists and The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council I am committed to undertaking regular training to meet the required continued professional development expectations each year.
