About me

Hi, I’m Michelle, a sports nutritionist based in Leatherhead, Surrey, and the founder of MD Performance Nutrition.

I help people eat in a way that supports their training, their health and their everyday life. That might mean fuelling properly for a marathon or CrossFit, getting the most out of a team or club, losing weight in a way that lasts, or making sure you’re eating well while taking a GLP-1 medication (and planning for life after it).

I don’t do rigid meal plans or “good” and “bad” foods. Instead, I look at what you’re eating now, what’s realistic for you, and we focus on one or two changes at a time that will make the biggest difference. Everything I recommend is grounded in good science, but it has to fit your life first, otherwise it won’t stick.

I work with individuals one to one, and I also run nutrition workshops for sports teams, clubs and gyms.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MSc in Applied Sports Nutrition (Distinction), St Mary’s University
  • BSc (First Class Honours) in Human Nutrition, Kingston University
  • Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr)

My experience includes supporting elite and recreational athletes preparing for and during competition, delivering a season long nutrition programme for adolescent athletes, and running seminars for a wide variety of groups including academy footballers and recreational athletes. My MSc research looked at how recreational CrossFit athletes learn about nutrition, including the role of social media, so I'm very interested in simplifying nutrition and dispelling myths.

Information about health conditions (*)

Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.

Further information

Nutrition doesn’t need to be complicated. Most people already know a fair bit about what they “should” eat; the hard part is making it work alongside busy jobs, family, training and social life. That’s where I come in. I’ll help you get the basics right rather than chasing the latest trend, and you can still enjoy eating out and the foods you love.

I’m happy to work with complete beginners as well as competitive athletes. If you’re not sure whether I’m the right fit, get in touch for a chat and we can talk it through.
