About me
Maria Tallon - DipNT mBANT CNHC BSc (Hons) Psychology PGCE
Hello, I’m Maria, a registered nutritional therapist at Nurture Your Life. I offer holistic nutrition advice by way of personalised nutrition consultations, dietary assessments and workshop sessions. All services are operating online.
I practice in Wanstead, East London and enjoy supporting clients with a wide range of health needs but have a particular interest in supporting women’s health, hormone balancing, healthy weight, skin health and stress management.
There is so much information about nutrition, which can be confusing, but it doesn't need to be. I can support you on your journey to health by offering a realistic, pragmatic approach to nutritional therapy. The focus is very much on what you can eat and not what you can’t. This is all about enjoying the journey to better health and most definitely not about deprivation or strict diets.
Healthy eating does not have to be complicated and difficult. As a busy working mum, I certainly know how it feels to be spinning lots of plates and understand the difficulty of adhering to healthy eating when faced with lack of time and exhaustion from a long day at work.
Following on from a BSc degree in Psychology, my professional career has been rooted in teaching, both in the UK and overseas and I am passionate about supporting the physical and emotional health of both children and adults.
I decided to train in nutritional therapy after successfully using food, supplements and lifestyle changes to support a chronic health condition which I had suffered from since early childhood.
My passion very much lies in helping my clients take control of their health and happiness as I support them through detailed personalised plans specific to their health needs.
My services
Initial consultation – I will send you out a short questionnaire and 5-day food diary to complete in advance of our first meeting which would last approximately 60 -90 minutes. At this meeting, I will take a detailed case history covering your health history and present concerns. Following on from this meeting I will develop your personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan which will be sent to you via email.
Follow up consultations are a little shorter-lasting approximately 45 -60 minutes and take place 6-8 weeks after the initial consultation.
Dietary assessments –suitable for those who feel they have developed some unhealthy eating habits. Making some simple tweaks to your diet and lifestyle could significantly enhance your health and well-being. Again, you will be required to complete a short questionnaire and a 5-day food diary so your nutrition plan can be tailored to your specific needs. Please note that this service does not include the in-depth consultation as above relating to your health history.
Health talks/workshops – supporting health and well-being through nutrition and lifestyle choices.
