About me
I’m Maeve, a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist and the Founder of the Dietetically Speaking Clinic.
Myself and my team of Specialist Dietitians support our clients to improve their relationship with food, feel better in their body, and manage a wide range of nutrition concerns. I also provide talks, workshops, and workplace wellness support for businesses.
We use realistic, psychologically informed, evidence-based strategies, always offering a safe, non-judgemental space. We believe every eating difficulty is valid and worthy of support.
We can support you with:
- Eating disorders: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, OSFED.
- Disordered eating: Emotional eating, binge eating, food freedom and Intuitive Eating.
- A variety of nutritional issues through a food freedom lens e.g. IBS, PCOS, high cholesterol, vegan and vegetarian diets, sports nutrition, fertility.

Training, qualifications & experience
Qualifications:
- First Class Honours Degree in Dietetics (BSc Hons Dietetics, University of Ulster Coleraine).
- Registered Dietitian with the HCPC in the UK and CORU in Ireland.
Specialist Training:
- British Dietetic Association (BDA) Advanced Mental Health in Eating Disorders training.
- Intuitive Eating for Healthcare Professionals by the London Centre for Intuitive Eating.
- Nutrition Counselling by the London Centre for Intuitive Eating.
- Guided Self-Help for Eating Difficulties from My Transitions (a company created by experienced Psychologists and Dietitians).
- Health Psychology Training For Nutrition Professionals by Spectrum Mental Health.
- Low FODMAP diet for IBS training by Monash University.
- Nutrition Therapy for Fertility by Nutrition Plus.
- Behaviour change training including Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from Behaviour Change Training and other training days and shadowing from Clinical Psychologists in the NHS.
Experience:
- Over 12 years of experience as a Dietitian. In this time, I've supported hundreds of people to heal their relationship with food and recover from disordered eating.
- Expertise in disordered eating, eating disorders, IBS, heart health, women’s health, and plant-based diets.
- NHS experience in diverse roles including: General Dietitian, Stroke Specialist Dietitian, Paediatric Dietitian and Mental Health Specialist Dietitian.
- Private practice experience with leading UK & Irish clinics: Talia Cecchele Nutrition Clinic (Eating Disorder Specialist Clinic), the London Centre for Intuitive Eating, Orla Walsh Nutrition, the Dublin Nutrition Centre and Founder of the Dietetically Speaking Clinic.
- Nutrition communication & education: delivering webinars, lecturing university students, writing for media, blogging, social media content and collaborating with companies and charities.
Member organisations

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 14 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
