About me
You’re in the right place if you’re feeling any of the following:
- Anxious about current health symptoms.
- Worried that your health isn’t as good as you’d like it to be.
- Concerned about managing a specific health condition or time of life and you’re not sure where to turn.
- Excited but nervous about an upcoming event – sporting, wedding or other, and want to be at your best.
- Overwhelmed with general health advice and want someone in your corner.
- Guilty about your food choices, cravings and/or lack of cooking skills and want non-judgmental support.
My approach:
I work with clients with a variety of health concerns/goals, from all over the UK via online appointments.
Holistic
My approach is holistic, considering your nutritional needs, lifestyle and history, environment, movement, sleep and stress management. To support you to feel better I get to the root cause of symptoms and offer tailored food and behavioural strategies, alongside, where necessary, lab testing and therapeutic supplementation.
Food First
As a former chef and recipe developer, I believe food should be a source of joy, not just nourishment. I take a food first approach, at a pace that is personalised and manageable for you.
With fun, flexible cooking and lifestyle tips, I support you to look after yourself in a natural, enjoyable, and truly fulfilling way.
Supplements
Therapeutic supplementation is different to just taking a shop-bought supplement. For some conditions and health goals, it is not necessary, but for others, there is scientific evidence to show that targeted, usually short-term use of specific supplements may support an improvement in symptoms and wellbeing. They can contribute to shifting imbalances in the body to assist your aim of feeling better, whilst adjusting to new food habits. Throughout my training (current and always ongoing), I only recommend supplementation where this evidence can be shown. I use specific, lab tested brands that I know and trust, tailored to your budget and needs.
Lab testing
The way I work, using functional medical methods to create a whole body view of your symptoms, potential imbalances and root causes may be supported by undertaking lab testing to help identify key markers in your body. This may involve simple blood tests, or wider ranging digestive health, hormonal or nutrient tests. Invivo and Regenerus are some of the companies I work with; my choice of tests will always be chosen relative to your specific needs. I guide you through the test ordering and practicalities and will evaluate and report on results, incorporating them into your personalised nutritional protocol in ways that are easy to understand and implement.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BANT registered nutritional therapist. With a first class BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Therapy, I bring the latest evidence-based nutrition training with a kind approach to support you in getting to the bottom of your symptoms and feeling better.
Having had my own wellbeing issues in the past, I am non-judgemental and invested in you as an individual, working with you towards sustainable ways to achieve your health goals.
I also offer wellbeing talks, courses, demonstrations, workshop and retreat work for groups and individuals, with experience as a food writer, recipe developer and stylist.
I have over 25 years of experience in the food industry, included hosting weekend food retreats, pioneering cooking classes and demonstrations, writing, editing and food styling for three cookbooks and heading up the food offering of a popular recipe box range.
My recipes and food writing have appeared in local and national media.
