About me

You’re in the right place if you’re feeling any of the following:

  • Anxious about current health symptoms.
  • Worried that your health isn’t as good as you’d like it to be.
  • Concerned about managing a specific health condition or time of life.
  • Excited but nervous about an upcoming event - sporting, wedding or other, and want to be at your best. I'm a long distance swimmer and completed my first half-ironman aged 53, so I know what it takes to keep going!
  • Overwhelmed with general health advice and want someone in your corner.
  • Guilty about your food choices, cravings and/or lack of cooking skills and want non-judgmental support.

I understand how hard it can be to ask for support; but it's worth it and I want the best results for you.

My approach:

I work via online appointments nationally and internationally and also in person if you are near to me. The way I work is compassionate and adjusted to what you need. If you're someone that just wants to be informed what to do and quickly, that's how we'll do it. If you need accountability, you'll get that. If you need time to reflect and ask lots of questions, brilliant, we work together that way. However we do it, I am honest, realistic and really listen to you.

Holistic
My approach is holistic, considering your nutritional needs, lifestyle and history, environment, movement, sleep and stress management. To support you to feel better I get to the root cause of symptoms and offer tailored food and behavioural strategies, alongside, where necessary, lab testing and therapeutic supplementation. My plans are in depth, designed to get the results you want.

Food First
As a former chef and recipe developer, I believe food should be a source of joy, not just nourishment. I take a food first approach, at a pace that is personalised and manageable for you.

With fun, flexible cooking and lifestyle tips, recipes and meal plans, I support you to look after yourself in a natural, enjoyable, and truly fulfilling way.

I work with all dietary needs.

Supplements
Therapeutic supplementation is different to just taking a shop-bought supplement. For some conditions and health goals, it is not necessary, but for others, there is scientific evidence to show that targeted, usually short-term use of specific supplements may support an improvement in symptoms and wellbeing. They can contribute to shifting imbalances in the body to assist your aim of feeling better, whilst adjusting to new food habits. Throughout my training (current and always ongoing), I only recommend supplementation where this evidence can be shown. I use specific, lab tested brands that I know and trust, tailored to your budget and needs.

Lab testing
The way I work, using functional medical methods to create a whole body view of your symptoms, potential imbalances and root causes may sometimes be supported by undertaking lab testing to help identify key markers in your body. This may involve simple blood tests, or wider ranging digestive health, hormonal or nutrient tests. My recommendation for any tests will always be chosen relative to your specific needs. I guide you through the test ordering and practicalities and evaluate and report on results, incorporating them into your personalised nutritional protocol in ways that are easy to implement.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BANT registered nutritional therapist with a first-class BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Therapy. I use an evidence-based, personalised approach to help you explore how nutrition may support your wellbeing.

I also have the additional training required by BANT to provide nutritional support for clients living with or recovering from cancer, always working alongside medical treatment.

Having experienced my own wellbeing challenges, including IBS and menopause, I bring empathy and a non-judgemental approach, working with you to find sustainable ways to support your health goals.

I work with clients across life stages, including those looking for support with digestion, energy, skin, hormonal balance, weight, or general wellbeing.

As a long-distance swimmer and half-ironman finisher, I also have a particular interest in nutrition for sport and endurance.

Beyond one-to-one support, I offer wellbeing talks, courses, workshops, demonstrations and retreats. My 25+ years in the food industry includes hosting food retreats, pioneering cooking classes, writing and editing cookbooks, and leading recipe development for a national recipe box company.

My recipes and writing have appeared in local and national media.
