About me

I help men and women with their health, and sporty people with their sports performance.    I want you to feel energised and motivated to achieve!

I also work with busy leaders in engineering, manufacturing and trade roles. People that like solving problems and getting data, I can help you understand your problems and make improvements.

I've been working as a nutritional therapist, yoga teacher and a health coach for over 10 years so have a breadth of experience to share with you.

Nutrition support for health, and for sporty people

Happy clients have boosted their energy, lost weight, built muscle, relieved hormonal issues, balanced blood sugar levels, set right their bloating and balanced gut issues. They've learnt how food and supplements can support their mood. Some have even achieved personal bests in their sport.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • You're tired and not sure you're sure you're fuelling your sport or recovering properly, you need some expert advice and are curious about how else we can fine tune your performance.
  • You've got a gut issue which is getting in the way of daily life or sport, you want to investigate what might be causing it and be able to get back to how you used to be.
  • You have a health issue and want to find out what foods and supplements you can use alongside medication or your condition.
  • You've done some tests with your GP, private health or online (e.g. Blood tests, stool, genetics etc.) and you're not sure what to do next. You'd like to talk them through and create a plan.
  • You want to lose some weight but have already tried many ways, fuelling for your event whilst trying to lose weight is proving hard.

I've experienced many of these instances and I experienced the value of having a friendly health professional and coach to talk through ideas and get recommendations.

How do I support you?

I offer different 12 week programmes tailored to each person. My goal is to educate you and help you create long term habits.  By combining nutritional therapy and coaching I can help you with the science and the motivation

CONTACT ME:  Click on 'Email me' and enter your details, please include your phone number, some emails go to spam when I reply. Then I'll contact you to organise a 20-30min video call where we can find out more about each other and I'll answer your questions and  explain what support you'll get (for example number of sessions, recipes, coaching, laboratory test and supplements).  I offer these video Discovery calls via my own website and once you email me (I can offer more availability than from this website).

Testimonials (more on the website)

'Before I was working with Joanne I was suffering from low energy levels, my nerves were up and down, I was comfort eating to cope with stress, I made poor diet choices, seriously overweight, poor sleep and I was miserable. I've learnt about how food, sleep and exercise can improve my mood and aid controlling my nerves

Working with Joanne is great as she breaks the most complex things into bite size chunks and makes everything clear and achievable which is why I have seen huge improvements in my energy, mood, sleep (I now sleep over 7 h compared to 5h before we started) and improvements in my body composition'  Greg, Fit by 40!

"After suffering a stress fracture through over training and under fuelling in 2017, I found Joanne and booked a 1-2-1 consultation to see if there was anything in my nutrition plan I could improve… as a sporty GP I thought I knew it all and was sceptical, but it turns out med school doesn’t teach you everything!"  Kate Robinson, GP

Corporate work (and charity)

I've delivered workshops, talks and events to IKEA, Heathrow, Lloyds Register, BMW, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Bracknell & Wokingham college, Vodafone, Microsoft, Nuffield Health, MIND, Smart Works, and many other businesses.

I've also delivered 1-1 consultations, healthy weight programmes and blood sugar issue prevention programmes to a number of different corporate businesses.

Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more.

Testimonials

Please see feedback from a few of my happy clients with a range of goals and health interests, many more available on my website!

"As an exercise physiologist myself I always thought that I had enough knowledge to manage my nutrition alone, but at this level, I could not be further away from the truth. Even with my background Joanne gave me a substantial amount of advice on what to eat and how to combine nutrients. I would recommend Joanne to anyone who is involved in any kind of activity that aims to improve their health or their athletic ability. Thank you Joanne!"

Dr George Balanos, MSc, DPhil (Oxon), Exercise Physiologist

"After suffering a stress fracture through over training and under fuelling in 2017, I found Joanne and booked a 1-2-1 consultation to see if there was anything in my nutrition plan I could improve… as a sporty GP I thought I knew it all and was sceptical, but it turns out med school doesn’t teach you everything!"  Kate Robinson, GP

''Joanne has worked with a number of clients for me, I’ve found her to be very professional and able to offer expertise as well as practical ideas. I am happy to recommend her and continue working with her". James Haskell (Rugby Player, England & Wasps)

"Joanne shows dedication towards enhancing the nutrition and well-being of others. Through the recommendations she makes with regard to sports nutrition this becomes a reality. Alongside her considerable scientific knowledge is her genuine desire to understand the needs of the individual. Her consultations provide food for thought and instils a desire to make positive changes. I thoroughly recommend her". Bev Callender, Olympic Athlete, Teacher & UK Athletics Coach

''I saw Joanne earlier this year for some nutritional advice. She was very thorough & took the time to understand my requirements. She offered lots of sound advice & useful hints & tips as to how to make sustainable & manageable changes. I have definitely seen & experienced the benefits of her wisdom! Thank you Joanne". Sarah Leach, Owner & Coach at STRIDE Coaching & Consulting

"I found maintaining a three day food diary a real eye opener - it really made me think about what I eat. The follow up and analysis session was great and gave me lots of simple ideas for improving my diet. Since then I have stuck to the changes and definitely feel better for it. Thank you for all your help and advice! I recently got a PB at Reading with a combination of new training, core work and the focus on my diet!" Dave Perret, Training for London marathon.
