My work as a dietitian is not simply a day job, but a deep and meaningful personal pursuit. I have been in private practice for twelve years and my enthusiasm for helping people feel better does not wane: when our health is optimised, our full potential can be reached. I believe it is every person’s right to live with the best health possible for them. I am determined, daily, to do my very best to help make that happen using nutrition and lifestyle medicine.
I am a highly qualified and experienced dietitian who approaches each client holistically. I treat the whole person: my top priority is always my patient’s long-term health - both mental and physical. Acute complaints receive treatment while I simultaneously hold my clinical focus on long term health.
My method is person centred: I care deeply about who you are, how you like to live your life, what your values are and I work around that. A central goal of my practice is that my clients leave my clinic fully equipped to:
- Understand their relationship with food and how to keep it as balanced as possible for optimal health
- Know how certain foods impact their personal health and diagnoses in positive and negative ways
- Have confidence in managing different eating scenarios and socialised eating
- Feel confident in recognising their own clinical nutritional needs
- Approach any disordered eating behaviours with compassion rather than critical judgement
- Eat intuitively
A tailored, individualised approach is important to me. I don’t run package deals or give glossy, laminated diet plans. We build your treatment together – client and practitioner in complete interaction and connection.
An individualised approach helps to shield clients from the confusing nutrition messages which increasingly bombard us via the media. We are all individuals and a one size fits all approach is impossible and often destructive. We know that diets are a very significant trigger for disordered eating – short term, time bound weight loss plans are not something I work with unless medically indicated.
I will work with inducing weight loss when we put overall health first. I have helped hundreds of patients reach a healthy weight for their body, but it has been universally achieved via prioritising mental and physical health as top priority. To put it simply: when we give the body and mind what it needs to be completely nourished, when we balance our behaviours and understand our deep needs, achieving weight loss is not a challenge. It happens organically because our bodies are very clever! We don’t need to restrict, we need to balance ourselves.
I completed my clinical training at New York Presbyterian Hospital (the University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell Medical Schools). This particular training was the most medically thorough available in the United States and set me in good stead to be able to take care of all disease states presented to me as a dietitian. My interest in treating a broad range of conditions has remained and I am happy to receive complex patient types in my clinic. Many of my patients have multiple diagnoses and have been turned away from other practitioners – you are in safe hands with me: learning to eat a tailored, nutrient dense diet is a good choice for anyone to make, irrespective of diagnosis. It can only help.
A healthy, adequate diet optimises our body’s ability to prevent, heal and/or slow the progression of disease states: it’s also a very enjoyable way to connect to our body’s needs. Food is delicious and should be enjoyed. I won’t ever ask you to eat anything you don’t like.
My support for a whole foods diet has only grown in my years of clinical practice. Foods in their most natural state are the building blocks of our health, they are what our body recognises most and when we know how to cook (I can guide you) they are cheaper too. We don’t need to reinvent the wheel: research continues to show us that the healthiest people consume mostly whole foods with positive eating behaviours (social, spiritual and so on). My job is to help you organise your lifestyle to get you to a place where you consistently consume the right foods for your body and find it easy to do. Contrary to what we’re often told – eating in a healthy way should not be a struggle. You also do not need to count calories or weigh your portions to ensure balanced eating. Let me show you how you can eat intuitively.
Medical nutrition therapy correctly practiced has the potential to help you wean off medications and prevent certain surgeries. We are seeing more and more medications being prescribed for chronic conditions which are treatable with lifestyle medicine (nutrition, exercise, sleep, meditation and more). Medications have side effects, lifestyle changes bombard you with positive side effects. It’s win win with nutrition and that’s why I love it.
I suffered with my own health challenges from my teens, and nutrition was the major game changer in my recovery. I felt very much abandoned by my doctors and have spent my career trying to prevent any other people feeling the loneliness I felt. I continue to sit in awe of the transformations I watch happening in my clinic, as I did in my very first patient - myself.
I am a Registered Dietitian, fully accredited by both the American Commission on Dietetic Registration and the UK's Health Professions Council: The RD credential is reserved only for those nutritionists who have completed rigorous clinical and academic training.
In addition to private practice I also provide nutrition lecturing and corporate wellness services. While offering the classic one-to-one, face to face counselling sessions, I also treat couples, families and groups pursuing greater health. For long distance clients, I provide virtual appointments.
Staying up to date with the latest reliable nutrition research and being as supportive as I possibly can to my patients is important to me. Once a client is under my treatment I am available between meetings via phone and email. You can expect full nutritional analysis of blood tests, a treatment plan entirely devised for you and lots and lots of practical and educational advice to show you how simple it can be to make positive nutritional and lifestyle changes.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
Health and Care Professions Council
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 14 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
