About me
Christel is an IBS specialist dietitian with 27 years of clinical experience, helping women in perimenopause and menopause finally understand and resolve their gut symptoms—without restrictive diets or endless food rules.
If you're dealing with unpredictable bloating, constipation, or the frustration of conflicting dietary advice, you're in the right place. Christel specialises in functional gut disorders, particularly for women whose symptoms have worsened during midlife hormonal changes.
With 21 years of NHS experience (including as Head of Nutrition at a major teaching hospital), Christel now runs a full-time private practice focused on helping you reclaim confidence in your body and freedom with food.
Training, qualifications & experience
Christel qualified as a dietitian in 1997 with a degree in Dietetics and has built 27 years of extensive clinical experience in complex nutritional care.
She spent 21 years in the NHS, progressing through various clinical roles to become Clinical Team Leader of a major acute dietetic team and, ultimately, Head of the Nutrition and Dietetic Department at a large teaching hospital in Manchester. In this senior leadership role, she oversaw the nutritional care of patients with complex medical and surgical conditions, developing expertise in managing challenging digestive disorders.
Now in full-time private practice, Christel focuses exclusively on helping people with IBS and other functional gut disorders. This specialisation allows her to provide in-depth, personalised support that goes beyond what's typically possible in busy NHS clinics.
Christel is trained to an advanced level in the low FODMAP diet—a gold-standard, evidence-based approach for managing IBS—by both King's College London and Monash University in Australia, the world's leading research institutions for IBS dietary management. She maintains her expertise by regularly attending clinical updates and staying current with the latest gut health research.
She is registered with the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) as well as the Freelance Dietitian's group of the BDA. Christel also hosts The Perimenopause Gutsy Talk podcast, where she shares evidence-based strategies for gut health.
