Anthea McCourtie, BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy, mBANT, CNHC, Level 3 PT
At You Nutritional Therapy I go beyond the concept of a balanced diet in a “one size fits all approach” and focus on tailor made nutritional programmes specific to your health needs and goals.
Focusing on your goals and examining your current lifestyle and health history I will work with you to provide a nutritional strategy and programme including a food plan and supplements where required. To help provide a fully individualised strategy, testing may be recommended and this will be discussed during your consultation.
I offer more than just nutrition to help you reach your health goals. Personal training, yoga, cooking tutorials and freezer stocking sessions can complement your nutritional programme. Corporate nutrition and fitness services are also available.
Nutritional therapy will never seek to replace any medical advice and I will always seek to work alongside other health professionals involved in your healthcare.

Like many nutrition professionals it was an interest in my own health and wellbeing that sparked a desire to learn more. With so many conflicting messages in the media and outdated advice still circulating, I wanted to study nutrition with a solid science and evidence base and so I completed my BSc in Nutritional Therapy at the Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management.
Continued Professional Development is not only a requirement of BANT the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) and the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), but also a key part of the You Nutritional Therapy ethos. Conferences, seminars and courses help to keep me up to date with the latest research and nutritional approaches.
I am absolutely passionate about food and healthy cooking and my aim is always to provide food plans that are not only tailored for specific health goals but that also taste delicious!
I am always keen to share new recipes with clients and have provided recipes and filmed cooking tutorials with Vicky Pattison (Geordie Shore, I’m a Celebrity, Loose Women) for Mini V Nutrition. Some of my recipes for Mini V Nutrition have also been published in The Sun newspaper. You can also find some of my recipes in Vicky Pattison’s book, The Real Me.”
I am a keen trail runner and previously a martial artist, training and competing in Muay thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and so am personally aware of the impact that nutrition can have when it comes to training, weight cutting, performing and recovery. To help bring more physical and mental balance into my life, I started to explore yoga. Finding a love for this led me to grow my understanding, and complete yoga teacher training in Goa India.
