About me
Hi, I'm Hattie! I'm a postgraduate-level qualified Nutritionist, Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, and Advanced Reiki Practitioner who is passionate about helping people improve their relationship with food, leaving restrictive dieting behind once and for all. Having a healthy diet isn't just about getting in your five a day, it's about how food makes you feel. There is a lot of misinformation out there and it can be hard to know what having a healthy diet actually means.
We all come from different backgrounds and have different lifestyles, which means there is no one size fits all when it comes to deciding what to eat. I enjoy working with my clients to help them explore their relationship with food and deliver personalised nutrition which works for their individual lifestyle - getting to a healthier, happier place with food once and for all.
Who do I help?
Are you struggling with yourself at the moment? Maybe you’re feeling uncomfortable in your own body, maybe you feel like you ‘do all the right things’ with your diet yet still feel sluggish, low energy and unhappy with your weight? Do you feel like you’ve tried every diet out there and you’re stuck in the same patterns on repeat? Maybe you’ve tried taking weight loss jabs but you don’t like how they made you feel? Or maybe you’re currently on weight loss jabs and are thinking about weaning yourself off but you’re scared of what will happen when you do?
Nutrition doesn't exist in a vacuum, how we eat is affected by so many things:
- How we feel about ourselves; our self-worth and self-beliefs.
- Our stress levels.
- Burn-out / Overwhelm: are you getting enough sleep? Are you finding the time to take care of yourself?
- Physical self-care: are you getting everything that you need e.g. are you drinking enough water?
- Our cultures and the environments we were brought up in.
- Overall life satisfaction: are you following your passions? Or do you need to make some changes?
My Approach
I encompass my own lived experience of helping myself out of these patterns of behaviour, along with combining all of my training in different fields to take an individualised, holistic approach. My work is centred around these core pillars:
- Making delicious food choices, centred around health, not weight.
- Everything starts from within: look internally for the answers you've been seeking from others.
- Building (and utilising!) your own toolbox of healthy coping mechanisms.
- Self-care is key: we only get one body in this life, respect it even if you don't like it.
- Empathy, compassion and understanding: applying to yourself and others.
- Rejection of diet culture: health does not equal weight. Enjoying a relationship with food which centres around what can be added in, rather than restriction.
