RD, BSc Hon Nutrition and Dietetics

About me

I am a HCPC-registered, BDA-member Paediatric Dietitian with 18 years of NHS and clinical experience. Transitioning from an engineering background in 2003 to follow my passion for helping others, I earned my BSc (Hons) in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Chester in 2007. I have since completed master’s-level training specializing in paediatric dietetics, eating disorders, and ARFID.

I support children with a wide range of dietary concerns, including ARFID, Autism, ADHD, non-IgE food allergies, food intolerances, restricted diets, feeding difficulties, faltering growth, nutritional deficiencies, constipation, and reflux. I strongly believe that nurturing a child’s physical and mental health is vital for their long-term growth and stability.

Along with extensive NHS experience, I bring a rich South Asian cultural perspective and speak Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Marwari, and English, with a working understanding of Gujarati and Punjabi.

As a parent to a young adult with ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties, I also bring firsthand personal insight to my practice. Friendly, positive, and dedicated, I look forward to supporting you and your child in achieving better nutritional health.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a specialised Paediatric Dietitian since 2016, and I have been working as a dietitian since 2008 in the NHS. I have completed several paediatric dietetic courses at Master levels.

I have completed a 5-day NHS leadership course, which has truly inspired me to progress in leadership. I have also completed a level 2 behavioural change course, a 2-day advanced practice in mental health, an ARFID masters level course run by SLAM, BDA master's-level paediatric modules 1 & 2, and I have also attended a master's-level Parental and Enteral Nutrition Group course. There are multiple courses I have attended to help improve my knowledge of ADHD and autism in children.

I have worked closely with families of paediatric patients with enteral feeding, including NG, PEG, and JEJ, with complex medical needs, and I have always been able to support their individual needs.

I have trained few families on blended diet via tube feeding. I have experience working with neonates and helping manage their feeding difficulties, prevent faltering in growth, and support with poor weight gain. I have experience helping patients with allergies, gastric difficulties such as constipation, reflux, and loose stools. I have experience managing coeliac disease clients.  I also worked in special schools with young people with various neurodiversity and learning difficulties who can have restricted diets; they can be picky eaters, have autism and ADHD related sensory diet concerns.

Currently, I am working in the CAMHS eating disorders and ARFID service. I enjoy working with families and helping young people achieve their healthy being. I find it rewarding to set realistic goals and help them achieve these.
