Ro Huntriss (Consultant Dietitian): BSc (Hons), PGDip, MSc, MClinRes, RD
I'm a UK Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's degree in Food Studies and Nutrition, a Master's degree in Advanced Nutrition and have a Master's degree in Clinical Research. Alongside my qualifications and publications in academic journals, I also have over 7 years of NHS experience and have been running my freelance business for 5 years which is continually growing and expanding.I have the qualifications and the experience but also have the characteristics and skills needed to help you to achieve your nutrition and health goals. My key areas of expertise are successful weight management, gastro-intestinal disorders e.g. IBS (including low-FODMAP), Ulcerative Colitis etc., pancreatitis, diabetes, heart health and disordered eating. However I have considerable experience in a number of other areas which are listed on my profile.
I help clients to get results they have been striving to achieve for years and I also provide consultancy to well-known businesses, brands and individuals that require nutritional expertise.
On an individual level, my aim is to help you to achieve your personal nutrition goals. I offer different services which are listed below, but am also able to create bespoke packages and services as per your requirements.
My clinic is in Horsforth in Leeds. See my fees below. I manage all of my own bookings so please book through me as opposed to The Orchard.
Skype or Phone Consultations
If you cannot get to Horsforth, or simply don't have the time I can also provide Skype or phone consultations so therefore can take on clients from further afield than Leeds. Please get in touch for further information
I also have the facilities to coach my clients online. I have GDPR compliant software which enables my clients to track their dietary choices (text or photos), their feelings, thoughts, questions, activity, weight etc. daily, which I am able to view. It enables a very fluid care process and allows me to have an in-depth look at what you are doing or eating. An initial consultation, whether it be face-to-face, Skype or phone, is required before coaching starts to information gather and create goals. Coaching can be purchased on a month-by-month basis and can be stopped at any time.
If you require nutritional consultancy for your business or brand please get in touch for a quote.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked in the NHS for several years gaining experience in many diverse clinical areas including gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, surgery and ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat). Alongside my freelance work, I am the service manager for a Specialist Weight Management Service in Yorkshire.
A big passion of mine is weight management and helping people to reach their weight loss goals, having helped clients to achieve the most fantastic results over the years. Another favourite is IBS and gut disorders; I get so much job satisfaction out of helping somebody to understand their condition and be able to control their symptoms for, sometimes, the first time in many years. Similarly, helping patients to understand and control their diabetes, heart health, pancreatitis or less well-known conditions such as reactive hypoglycaemia, and helping people to effectively manage their condition, is why I love my job and why I would never want to leave it. I also help those without a clinical condition as such, but suffer from reduced energy levels, fatigue or poor concentration and we have seen excellent improvements by making relevant dietary changes.
I am a vegetarian and have a good knowledge of vegetarian and vegan diets also.
I have a Batchelor's degree in Food Science and Nutrition, a Master's degree in Advanced Nutrition, and a Master's degree in Clinical Research for which I was awarded a Distinction from the University of Manchester. The latter degree was obtained through a scholarship from the National Institute for Health Research who invested into me as a clinical academic practitioner.
I am a published academic author. You can find my most recent work here looking into low-carbohydrate diets which has had much international attention (view altmetric score):
I presented my most recent research findings at the Diabetes UK Conference in London in March 2018 which I hope to publish this year or early next year. I also act as a peer-reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals all over the world.
I am the Consultant Dietitian and Expert for the Terri-Ann 123 Diet Plan, a low-carbohydrate diet which has sold over 75,000 copies worldwide to date. I am also the Consultant Dietitian for the Healthy Happy Mum Plan by Katie Piper and Terri-Ann Nunns.
