About me

Hi, and welcome. My name is Stiana, an experienced and passionate Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, AFMCP graduate and Functional Medicine student. I believe that everyone deserves the right to live a healthy and abundant life. My own journey with chronic illness has taught me that everyone can heal providing they have the right tools to achieve this.

The large majority of the clients that I work with have had ongoing struggles with their health and have found it increasingly difficult to get to the bottom of their health problems. Many of them have an undiagnosed thyroid condition and others have 'normal' blood results that are not shedding light on their ongoing debilitating symptoms. The large majority of clients I work with are struggling to get the right support within the conventional healthcare system. They have spent months or even years on a quest to understand why they can't lose weight, struggle with low energy, have issues with hormonal, gut and mood imbalances.

Most of my clients want to focus on:

  • Weight loss
  • Energy & Fatigue
  • Gut Health
  • Reactions to food
  • Thyroid imbalances (which they are very often unaware of)
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  • Autoimmune Health
  • Issues with sleep
  • Mood imbalances
  • Allergies

... and more.

My passion for nutrition and functional medicine started after I fell ill over ten years ago. I went from being fairly healthy to being bedridden in the space of a few months. It was a very challenging time of life and my experiences taught me that many people have to live with very troubling and debilitating symptoms without much support and guidance available through the current conventional healthcare system.

Through my own quest to regain my health, I discovered the immense power of the body to heal providing it receives the right nutritional and lifestyle support.
My journey from wheelchair to wellness has made me more determined than ever to support others who might be facing chronic health conditions or those individuals just not getting answers as to why they are feeling below par.

Whether you live to eat or eat to live, food is essential to your life and one of the most important drivers for health and wellbeing. Sometimes we need to focus on more than just food and in many complex health conditions, it is really important that we peel away the layers to establish the root cause(s). This process can sometimes take time, but with the right guidance and support, you can regain your health and reclaim your vitality in order to get the most from life. This is one of the reasons I believe that committing to your health and working with someone who has spent years researching researching and studying, is one of the best investments you can make to regain your health and wellbeing.

Drawing on the latest nutritional science and my own personal health journey and emotional struggles throughout this period, my aim is to educate and empower you to get back to living your healthiest life.

If you are tired of not getting answers on your health and symptoms and ready to embrace a healthier life, then working with me is the first step you need to take. I will work with you, motivating and encouraging you to achieve your goals through a personalised programme that is right for you.

I run a busy clinic, and therefore are only work with highly committed individuals.

So if you:

  • Are committed to making the changes needed
  • Appreciate the importance of investing in your health and wellbeing
  • Understand that good health requires addressing both our physical and mental health together
  • Embrace the notion that this is not about instant results or calorie counting, but instead about committing to a process that will change your life forever
  • Are ready to begin your journey

How I work

I offer personalised packages that are tailored to your individual needs. These will be discussed during the assessment call. All my packages require you to work with me for a minimum of four sessions. I genuinely believe that in order to get you the results you need, you will need to commit to the journey. In some instances it has taken years for your to feel the way you do and it is not going to get fixed overnight. Each package is tailored to your needs and in some instances I might suggest functional testing to support the work we do.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have spent three years training with the College of Naturopathic Medicine to complete the diploma in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy with a distinction. (dipCNM)

I am also a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and am currently training towards accreditation as a certified practitioner. I have already completed Applied Functional Medicine and Clinical Practice (AFMCP) and halfway through the final part of the certification programme.

I am a  member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (mBANT) and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC registered).

My specific interest in gut health has initiated many different training modules with different organisations, but just to name a few:

  • Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. Clinical Strategies with Dr. Alison Siebecker)
  • Certified Gluten Practitioner with Dr. Tom O'Bryan
  • Autoimmune Support - Dr Todd. A Born
  • Gastrointestinal Masterclass - Jason A Hawrelak

I spent time in India gaining an insight into Ayurvedic Medicine and try to incorporate elements of this into my practice.

I am keen to stay up to date with the current research and have a thirst for learning and maintain regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) training.

Information about health conditions (*)

Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.

Further information

This is what a few of my clients have to say:

Steve (Cheshire)

"For most of my adult life I was diagnosed with gut health issues and have always struggled to the point where pain and discomfort was just normality.
A huge thank you to Stiana at ‘the wellness junction’ for helping me discover that this didn’t have to be the case, after tests and changes in diet and lifestyle we discovered my body was intolerant to dairy and gluten. over the last 12 months and with changes to the diet to accommodate this I am now 3 stone lighter and alot more comfortable in myself.
it’s amazing to see what can effect the body but also to see how it can adapt and change when you take out aspects that don’t agree with you.
A huge recommendation and it’s never too late in life to make changes. thank you."

Debbie (Cheshire)

"I have been seen by the wellness junction for the last month and a half after struggling with gut symptoms for years. In the first month I have had to eliminate a lot of foods but feel so much better and has lost 8lb in a month with no gut symptoms. Looking forward to start introducing foods back in now."

Jacqui (Stoke-on-Trent)

"I’ve lost nearly 4 years of my life to ill health, I became very poorly, very quickly, desperate for answers and a plan of action, I saw 4 Consultants, 1 private, & 3 NHS over an 18 month period. Eventually, a Consultant Neurologist diagnosed me with Fatigue, on top of an existing Under-active Thyroid condition. I was put on 16 tablets a day, told my pain was managed and my life was left diminished and unrecognisable, I lost my job and Career of 12 years due to the illness. I was in a wheelchair, or had to use crutches due to the pain and weakness in my legs and joints, I slept 16-18 hours a day, my husband had to bathe, cook and help carry me up the stairs, my cognitive function was so poor that I feared I had early onset dementia. This is a tiny snap shot of the misery of living with debilitating illness day in and day out. I had made some progress in my recovery through energy healing and talking therapies, however, I was still very poorly when I found Stiana.

Stiana took a thorough life history and recommended some tests, which I had, these really showed why my health was still so poor, I had leaky gut, gut dysbosis, a parasite, vitamin and mineral deficiencies amongst other things. Stiana devised a plan of action, which I have followed for the last 8 months. During this time, I have had a massive improvement to my health and quality of life. I must say, at the beginning I felt slightly worse, however, I’m so glad I stuck with it, it’s as though my life force energy has returned a tiny bit each day. For the first time in 4 years I can go for a walk with my grandchildren, I have joined a gym, I have very little pain and weakness, my energy levels and stamina are so much improved, I am naturally waking up in the morning with energy for the day ahead and I’ve started a part time job, which is going really well. I couldn’t have envisioned this progress 8 months ago.

I absolutely credit Stiana for my recovery, she has guided, supported and encouraged me every step of the way. Stiana has a lovely, person centred approach and I feel she really listens, it’s very much a joint way of working, where Stiana empowers you.

My only regret is that I didn’t find Stiana 3 and a half years earlier, however, I’m over the moon with my progress and cannot recommend Stiana highly enough. The investment in working with Stiana has given me my health, quality of life and earning potential back."

Annette (South Africa)

"I have been suffering with gut issues, Lupus, Sjogren’s, fatigue etc. for a number of years.

From the age of about 40 I have been suffering from really infrequent bowel movements. I had seen to a variety of specialist without success. This led to regular use of senokot, which had to be increased over the years to deliver results. I can honestly say that I have not had a normal stool for the last 35 years.

This changed when I started working with Stiana. Three months ago, she started work on supporting my ongoing problems with Lupus. She taught me how to eat properly, how to cut out sugar, gluten and dairy. It wasn’t easy, but my debilitating symptoms motivated me to persist. Stiana analysed my past medical history and medication and meticulously researched what she could use to avoid any contra-indications as I am taking a lot of medication. She did some testing and suggested specific supplements.

Within one week, really, just one week of starting work on my gut, my stomach aches were gone, and I was having daily normal stools, and continue to do so daily.

I feel so much better overall and couldn’t thank Stiana enough for giving me my health back. It took me 3 years to start on the plan as I always had an excuse, but the only reason was that I didn’t want to give up the junk that I was eating. At last I did, and I couldn’t be happier.

Kathryn (Liverpool)

"When I started working with Stiana I was having some major issues with my skin and gut health. After an extensive consultation, Stiana determined the best steps to take towards my recovery. We talked on regular occasions whilst I followed various protocols to get my health back on track. Stiana reassured me on what to expect during each stage of my treatment.

It has been over 5 months and I’m feeling almost back to my best self. My skin and gut are massively improved all thanks to Stiana’s knowledge and understanding of how the body works. I am forever grateful for all your support Stiana – thank you very much."

Bethan (Wales)

"The fantastic support, guidance and encouragement from Stiana is outstanding. She really does take time to explain everything in detail and her approach is both comforting and educational. She is so understanding and is always there when you need her. Nothing is too much trouble. Whereas GPs often dismiss or suggest ‘everything is ok’, Stiana really takes time to listen and digs deep to find the true causes of my symptoms. I can not recommend her enough and I am very grateful to her for everything she does."

Lisa (Cheshire)

"I first went to see Stiana in autumn 2018 after attending her talk on gut health at the open day – it captured my attention and I felt it was relevant. I’d had a really bad flare up of my skin since April and it was really uncomfortable and getting worse by the day. I knew I didn’t want steroids or traditional treatments as I really wanted to get to the bottom of what wasn’t working within my body to have caused such an aggressive reaction.

Immediately Stiana took control and whilst my diet wasn’t particularly ‘bad’ made me make some significant, permanent changes. The list of supplements bamboozled my tired brain a little at first but wow did they work! Within three months – the difference was unbelievable, hardly a patch of red, sore skin, significantly increased energy and overall wellness… I found it so hard to believe. I really stuck to the advice and did as much as I could on top of diet but there were always a few areas I didn’t get to complete – mostly regarding time for ‘me’ but I know the importance and am constantly looking for ways to achieve this! Stiana shares her wealth of knowledge about wider health issues and future prevention freely. Thanks so much for the support, encouragement, advice in all areas – not just for my original complaint. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stiana to anyone looking for relief of a particular complaint or just seeking a more overall wellness. Thanks."

Jamie (Stoke-on-Trent)

"Stiana has been really helpful from my first interaction and made a big difference in my personal life and training too! From more energy, no bloating, better training, feeling stronger and happier! I am such a fussy eater as well so I must be a nightmare as the diet change was quite a overhaul for me but I am sticking to it and Stiana is suggesting different things that I really like! and supporting me!
I am getting comments already about physic change and I need a new belt! and I was not after loosing weight but I am getting more toned! Looking forward to future results and continued support!

A great person to help you in your goals.. I am a Vet 40 runner already at a high level but I want to be better and already had 2 PB improvements since working with Stiana most recent 3k 8:58…"
