About me

Stacey Austin DipCNM mBANT CNHC

Scarborough-based, registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner & approved Lorisian Practitioner specialising in food intolerance tests to find the root cause of your symptoms. Various other functional tests available. Accredited through the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Nutritional Therapy is a form of complementary healthcare that supports clients using a natural approach with their personal health issues from an already diagnosed condition to symptoms as mild as lack of energy or regular colds. After taking a full case history during a 1-2-1 consultation, I compose a personalised plan to support their individual needs. This incorporates food, lifestyle & the purest, most effective supplements where necessary if their body is requiring additional support in achieving optimal health & wellbeing. I use a naturopathic approach that takes into account all aspects of the individual including the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. This holistic approach aims to support the person as a whole and understand the root cause of any symptoms rather than simply suppressing them.

Initial 1-2-1 Consultation

Prior to meeting, you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire and a 7-day food diary to complete. During the consultation, we will discuss your main health concerns, explore any issues you have, symptoms you are experiencing, previous medical history, food diary, nutrient imbalances, physical activity and general lifestyle. I will then evaluate your individual circumstances to agree on a tailored, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle protocol to meet your personal needs.

Skype and Facetime consultations can be arranged if necessary, however it is advisable and more beneficial to be seen in person.

Follow-up 1-2-1 Consultation

A follow-up appointment is recommended 4-6 weeks after your initial consultation, to review your progress, assess any test results and update your protocol where applicable. Further follow-up consultations can be scheduled to suit your requirements to provide you with ongoing support throughout your nutritional journey.

Functional Testing

Functional testing aims to identify the root causes of any imbalances or pathogens that may be present. This enables a more complete picture of the factors that may be contributing to your health, resulting in a more direct and cost effective nutritional protocol.

There is an extensive range of functional tests available to Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners, some of the most frequently used include:

  • Food Intolerance Testing (IgG)
  • Allergy testing (IgE)
  • Heavy Metal Toxicity
  • Complete Nutrient Profile
  • Vitamin D Levels
  • Gi Effects Comprehensive Stool Analysis
  • Parasite Testing
  • Homocysteine Testing
  • Male Hormone Profile
  • Female Hormone Profile
  • Fertility Profiles
  • Oestrogen Metabolism
  • Adrenal Stress Profile
  • Thyroid Screening Plus Reverse T3
  • Genetic Testing

Please contact me for further information on how functional testing may benefit you.
