I am unlike any dietitian you have ever met. I know that there is a wealth of free information available off of the internet....so why would anyone pay to see a dietitian?
My passion is giving highly personalized advice and getting to the root of whatever diet-related or medical issue you may be struggling with. My specialty is weight loss and I have a very high success rate helping people who have been unsuccessful using other programs or who have other health conditions (eg. diabetes, PCOS) which must be considered as well. My gentle and compassionate approach and my ability to "think outside the box" means I am able come up with creative solutions even to the most complex nutrition problems. I'm a very firm believer in "practicing what I preach" which means I will never ask you to do something which I am not prepared to do myself. I am practical and realistic in my approach and I try out most of my advice before I pass it along to clients.
In the initial assessment, my aim is to learn as much as I can about your life situation so that I can help you achieve your nutrition and health goals in a practical and sustainable way. Be prepared to talk about more than just food and what you are eating though! My 22 years of experience has demonstrated time and time again, that mindset, stress levels, sleep, muscle mass, medication, how often you comfort eat and your thought processes around food, are just as important to your long-term success as what you eat and how much you exercise. I address all of these things.
At the end of the initial assessment, I can almost always determine what the underlying problem is (it may or may not have anything to do with what you are eating) and I can either provide advice on the spot, ask your GP to run additional tests and/or refer you to other professionals and resources that can help.
Looking for a meal plan? I’m happy to provide that, but I always work together with you so that it only includes foods that you like and so that you can hear my thought process which will allow you to make your own changes to the plan in the future. I believe more in “mix and match” meal ideas as opposed to a rigid meal plan because it is more flexible and is much easier to fit into your life.
Looking for a weight loss or nutrition “coach” and someone to hold you accountable to what you say you are going to do? I offer that as well. It is easy to get off track if no one else knows what you are trying to accomplish. So consider me your “accountability buddy” — someone who will check in with you regularly, cheer you on when things go well, and give you a gentle nudge when you get off track. I’m also there to coach you through the plateaus, vacations, parties and meals out so that you can get results while still enjoying your life.
Let’s be sure that my approach is what you are looking for and that you are going to feel comfortable and confident working with me. Please get in touch for a no-obligation discussion about your specific needs and how I can help. I am committed to assisting you in any way that I can, even if it means referring you on to someone else. You can reach me at 07787 603863 or email@example.com. Appointments can be arranged at your convenience and include evening and weekend appointments and/or home visits. I also offer a clinic in Kenilworth one day per month.
Note: At the moment, weight management and general nutrition advice constitutes 50% of my business. A website for this part of my business is currently under development. The other 50% of time is spent helping people with brain injuries and neurological conditions, so if you try to search for my website, this is what will come up. I thought this was worth mentioning as it does seem to confuse a lot of people. Quite simply, I am passionate about two, very distinct areas of nutrition and I just couldn't choose. But don't worry - I do see members of the general public as well!
