Sarah is a fully qualified, professionally registered and insured, naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working within a functional medicine framework.

Sarah’s own vitality and enthusiasm for life is a testimony to her belief in the power of food. Sarah has had many happy years successfully running her busy nutritional therapy practice, Nutritional Vitality, and her psychotherapy practice, Feel Vitality.
Sarah's work is varied – in addition to one on one client consultations, she regularly appears on local radio and writes articles for national magazines and local press on a wide range of subjects including children's nutrition and stress management.
Sarah occasionally freelances for corporate nutritional training and education. She has worked with corporate names such as Danone, Nuffield Health, Tesco Pharmacy, Booths Supermarket, Prospect Housing, Virgin Trains and English Lakes Hotels.
Sarah practices yoga, dances the 5 rhythms, walks and cycles all over the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, loves disco and runs competitively. Her most favourite way to relax is with a good book, preferably in the sunshine, somewhere stunning.
During your Initial Consultation, Sarah takes comprehensive details of your medical history, any symptoms, your diet and lifestyle. Together you will focus on and agree your goals and the realistic and practical dietary/lifestyle changes which will help.
Afterwards you will receive:
- A strategy for health – linking the symptoms to potential nutritional imbalances and providing support and encouragement to change diet and lifestyle
- A written action plan – personalised advice for dietary and lifestyle changes
- A written supplement programme – details of any recommended nutritional supplements
- The recommendation of any non-invasive clinical tests, if required and/or tests to be done at your GP's
- Reasonable telephone/email support throughout your programme
It is difficult to say how many follow up consultations, if any, are needed. In general, for sports nutrition or a review of your dietary intake to optimise health, purely the initial session is often enough. For Functional Medicine sessions, commonly a further 2-3 sessions are needed, with perhaps 5-6 for more complex issues. Alternatively, longer term, more frequent follow ups can be taken by those who prefer to work on any underlying patterns, emotions, habits and other psychological factors behind their eating.
Your follow up consultations are important. Your nutritional recommendations are often not life-long, but will be subject to review and progression. You will gain the maximum benefit from seeing Sarah at 4-6 weekly intervals to monitor your progress and make any adjustments necessary.
Sometimes you might want more information about what's happening in your body. Functional tests can give a clearer picture of what is going on and can help focus your programme accordingly.
Sarah uses advanced laboratory testing providers; Genova Diagnostics, Regenerus labs, Diagnostechs and Lorisian and/or your GP. All are individually priced and payable direct to the lab. Typical tests Sarah recommends, if appropriate, are:
- Adrenal Stress Index

Sarah is a fully qualified and insured Nutritional Therapist, Counsellor and Psychotherapist, registered with the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), the Government body the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy
The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy is the professional body for Nutritional Therapists.
There are different BANT membership classes, including Full Member, Fellow Member and Student Member.
All BANT practitioners must have met the required standards of training, be fully insured and adhere to the BANT Code of Ethics and Practice.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including massage, aromatherapy and nutrition.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
