About me

Friendly evidence-based nutrition advice in Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire (and country-wide via Skype). I have a real passion for nutrition, helping people make healthy lifestyle choices and to separate fact from fiction.

I offer tips and advice which are backed by good scientific evidence - no fad diets, powders or wacky ingredients here! Being a mum of two young children, I know how hard it can be to make sure you are providing yourself and your family with a healthy, balanced diet. There is so much information out there it is hard to know what to do for the best. With me, you'll get honest, practical advice you can trust. My expertise covers adults and children, young and old.

I offer 1-2-1 consultations as well as group workshops and talks on a variety of topics (e.g. plant-based diets, weight-loss, weaning your baby, feeding the family, fussy eating and healthy ageing).

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a strong background in Nutrition with an Masters degree (MSc) and Doctorate (PhD) in Nutrition from The University of Reading. I have 10 years experience working in the field and I am fully registered with the Association for Nutrition.

The Association of Nutrition (AfN) is the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN), a register of competent, qualified nutrition professionals who meet rigorously applied standards for scientifically sound evidence-based nutrition and its use in practice.  The UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists is the only register of qualified nutritionists recognised by Public Health England, NHS Choices and NHS Careers.

I have previously worked at the British Nutrition Foundation, providing evidence-based nutrition advice to consumers, food industry and the media. I have also collaborated with leading academics, universities and Public Health England. I have appeared on BBC2 and have been quoted in The Guardian, Telegraph, Daily Mail and more.

Initial nutrition consultation

I have extensive knowledge and experience on a wide range of nutrition topics. The initial consultation will sometimes involve the collection of a 3 day diet diary (in advance of the meeting), to help me understand what your/your child’s diet is currently. During the consultation (which will last around 1 hr) your diet/child's diet will be discussed and you will be given some personalised expert guidance and practical advice. A summary email, outlining the key points/action plan from the consultation, will be provided. Follow up appointments can be arranged.

We can chat about how you have been getting on since the last consultation, make any adjustments to the action plan and cover any additional, related topics.

Dietary assessment
Using professional high-quality nutrition analysis software, your diet can be assessed in depth to understand your intake of essential nutrients and potential areas for improvement. Includes written report and 45 minute feedback session.

Personalised menu plan

After an initial consultation where your current diet is discussed together with any concerns, a 7-day menu plan will be developed allowing you to follow a healthy balanced diet specifically tailored to your needs. Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a nutritionist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the nutritionist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
