About me

As a registered nutritionist and functional medicine practitioner, I understand how you may sometimes feel as if you're just surviving, instead of thriving. Unpredictable gut symptoms can have a significant effect on quality of life and ability to reliably function day to day, in turn creating a vicious cycle with difficulty accessing the right foods.

Using an integrative approach, I combine my background as an NHS resident doctor with functional medicine and nutrition. I offer you a safe space to talk through your symptoms, and the tools you need to achieve your health goals. I also offer access to functional testing as required, including SIBO breath testing, gut microbiome testing, food intolerance testing, and various nutrition panels.

The essence of the functional medicine approach is to dig deeper and ask ‘why’? It goes beyond assessing symptoms. It means looking more closely at how the systems of your body are working at a cellular level, and how your genes are influenced by your environment and experiences.

Working with me, your first consultation will be 60 minutes long via video call, during which we discuss your current concerns, medical and lifestyle history, previous test results, and medications. Following this, you will receive your personalised functional medicine report, including functional testing recommendations, nutrition plan with recipes, lifestyle and supplementation recommendations. I offer a variety of different food plans to suit you, which include anti-inflammatory, gut health, mitochondrial support, metabolic health, and cardiovascular health food plans.

If you decide to join one of my 1-1 programmes, you will additionally be given access to your own portal within the practice system, which can be accessed online or via a downloadable app. This includes a health journal, allowing you to log your day to day progress and any ongoing symptoms, which we review together as you progress. You will receive regular follow up video / phone sessions with me, to keep you on track and monitor progress. During these sessions, I will guide you through the steps needed to ensure you reach your goals, guided by the results of any functional testing completed.

If you are looking for more general nutrition and gut health support, I also offer group programmes, which from 2025 will be run 3-4 times per year.

For any further information, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I will be happy to answer your queries, and delighted to assist you on your journey to health and wellness.

"By the time our bodies begin to show signs of poor health, the underlying causes may have been there for a long time. Sometimes, maybe even years. To fully assess your current health, set goals, consider clinical testing and work through implementing a functional medicine and nutrition plan, we will need to work together over a period of time. Therefore, for optimum results, programmes facilitate tailored and focused support that is best delivered over a period of three months."

Testimonials

"When I first visited Rebecca's clinic I was suffering with a condition that my GP and hospital consultant were struggling to offer a remedy route. I completed six separate sessions with Rebecca and can't recommend highly enough the help and advice I received. Rebecca is a goldmine of knowledge and completely generous in sharing this, my health is in a completely different place since my sessions and new understanding of health and well being issues has already made a big change to my day to day life.""The benefits I received from my treatments made life liveable and changed my rather doubting attitude to the alternative approach to medicine to one of real belief. I have no hesitation in recommending Rebecca to anyone who needs help achieving a way back to a full life that encompasses a wider and more natural approach as possible."

"Thank you so much for everything you have done for me, it has truly changed my life and opened my eyes to what food are good and bad and making the correct food choices at the correct time. I'm actually sad programme has come to end. I feel very prepared for my new way of life and I truly feel fitter and younger than I felt in many years. I can’t thank you enough."

"The sessions with Rebecca have given me the tools I need to optimise both how I am feeling and how I deal with symptoms from my condition. Since following the process she set for me I have more energy, feel and look significantly better, and have lost some weight into the bargain! Now I know what works for me, I simply need to continue the good habits I have adopted. For the first time in several years, I feel optimistic about my health and wellbeing."

"Fantastic experience!  Dr Healey was extremely thorough and knowledgable in all aspects of developing improvements in my nutrition plan when dealing with my plant based diet. Having tailored the foods particularly to my needs and necessities, my health has improved dramatically. Any questions and queries I had were responded to quickly and efficiently. Not only did we cover every spectrum of nutrition, but also in depth medical concerns too. It has been an incredibly beneficial experience. The ample recipes provided are delicious too."

"From start to finish Rebecca made me feel extremely comfortable discussing my issues and helping to put together a personalised programme for myself. At first things seemed really overwhelming but I felt confident and reassured by Rebecca's knowledge and experience that there would be some light at the end of the tunnel. All my meetings and test results were always thoroughly explained and after each one I felt more and more confident and healthy after following the diet/ lifestyle regime. I would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone, and can now happily say I have control over my symptoms and understand my triggers."

"I feel very fortunate to have found Rebecca and I have greatly appreciated her support through my recent illness with long haul Covid. Having previously worked as a GP, I understand well the shortcomings of a conventional biomedical approach. Rebecca has all the background knowledge of a medical doctor but utilises a more holistic approach. Her advice is tailored to take into account your own personal sociocultural circumstances. I found her therapeutic approach to be empowering as she gives you strategies you can use that can help boost your immunity and give your body the best chance to recover. Rebecca is also immensely kind, non judgemental and empathetic. I would highly recommend her."

"Thank you very much for the care provided over the last 3 months. I now feel equipped to make better food choices for my health. I am very grateful for finding out the cause of my symptoms and happy to have noticed an improvement in my bloating. Thank you for answering my questions in a timely manner and the numerous recipes."

"I could not have been more pleased with the care I received under your program. I felt genuinely listened to and understood , something I have often found lacking by medical professionals, but also empowered to improve my health myself. I have felt  thoroughly supported and could not be happier."

"I have benefitted hugely from my sessions with Rebecca, I had long covid and issues around my diet, energy, sleep and general well-being. After 3 sessions (spaced over 3 months) of working together I feel energised and positive about my health and diet and future. I found Rebecca sensitive, compassionate, knowledgeable and incredibly professional. I knew if I needed to ask for some advice or questions in between sessions, she was very quick in responding to my messages. I would recommend her to friends and family without hesitation and will be keeping her contact details (for possible future consultations) and all I've gained and learned. Thank you so much."

"Rebecca was kind, thoughtful, thorough and conscientious. Her evidence-based advice helped me to see tangible some improvements during my time working with her. I felt listened to, supported & reassured throughout & would really recommend working with Rebecca."

"Sessions have been very informative and helpful and definitely made me look at and think about food in a whole new way! Set up for life! Thank you so much!"

"Rebecca is clearly very knowledgeable on her subjects and their wider health implications. I have visited her for, in the main, nutritional and lifestyle advice following an illness. She talks logically and straight-forwardly explains matters. She is highly supportive, caring by nature and understands the reality of life versus the ideal scenario. Her proposals are therefore balanced. Well worth a visit – even if you already like fish, nuts and don’t drink much!"
