About me

I have always been extremely passionate about health and well-being and at the age of 20, I qualified as an aerobic and fitness instructor and worked for many years at a large gym in Leeds.  I always trained at the gym and loved to run, regularly undertaking half and full marathons, however, I noticed my health was suffering and I was developing gall bladder issues and this resulted in my gall bladder being removed back in 2012 and even after surgery, I still felt I was not running on all cylinders.  I then started researching on how diet and nutrition may be of help and soon realised that there was a relationship between what we eat and links to and the development of certain health conditions, however for many people, including myself, nutrition and how it may impact health was poorly understood.  So I decided to train as a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist and have not looked back since. After qualifying, I set up my practice and also now work at a local health food shop where I give advice and recommendations on a variety of supplements and health concerns.

The consultation:

I always aim to offer individualised nutrition and lifestyle guidance within a warm and friendly environment that promotes health and wellbeing. We discuss how certain foods and lifestyle habits may affect health and contribute towards symptoms and by addressing these issues, support the client in helping them make informed nutritional and lifestyle choices that may help them restore and maintain their health.

I offer two types of consultations:

In type one, a full detailed health, diet and lifestyle questionnaire is taken during the initial consultation (please allow one and half hours), taking into account any previous and current medical conditions, symptoms and medications and/or supplements and we also discuss what main priorities and goals are along with what they feel is achievable, so dietary and lifestyle adjustments are recommended that they feel able to follow. Often a few simple changes can make a difference. After the consultation, a full detailed report and plan will be written, explaining the reasons behind diet and lifestyle adjustments along with an action plan and meal suggestions. Courses of nutritional supplements may be advised as these too, may also help support the body. In a further one hour consultation, we will discuss the report and plan and make any necessary adjustments.

Alternatively, I can send in the post, a detailed health, diet and lifestyle questionnaire that can be filled out and sent back in a a pre-paid envelope. This can also be done via e-mail. At the consultation (please allow one and half hours), we look at the questionnaire in more detail and I will ask further relevant questions and also discuss what main priorities and goals are along with what they feel is achievable. Recommendations, courses of nutritional supplements and any possible lifestyle adjustments will be made and I will explain reasons behind them. We will then work together on making an action plan. After the consultation, a detailed report and plan will be written and sent reiterating what was discussed at the consultation.

The number of further appointments may vary depending on your circumstances and further follow-ups can be arranged, either as a one off or periodically. However, I will review your progress on both types of consultations and answer any questions and make any adjustments to the plan when required.
