Hi, my name is Kirsten and I am the founder of The Food Treatment Clinic which offers specialist digestive health and PCOS dietetic services.
My practise offers bespoke support packages to individuals with digestive health problems, such as IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome), Coeliac Disease and Acid Reflux (Heartburn). As well as helping women with PCOS.
By supporting individuals to make the required changes to their diet, I am able to help them to both understand and control their symptoms.
For several years of my life, I struggled with both PCOS and digestive health problems which made it difficult when trying to manage a busy and hectic schedule, so I completely understand what it is like for others struggling with similar health issues. And with the NHS only able to provide limited support for myself and others like me, I felt like I was alone and left having to plan my life around my symptoms.
This led me to start reading around how I could manage my digestive health and PCOS symptoms with food and diet, which led me into becoming a registered dietitian. Discovering that many symptoms of digestive health and PCOS problems can be easily managed through dietary changes, providing relief from distressing symptoms.
I went on to become a digestive health and PCOS specialist so that I can help and support others like me get relief from their symptoms and feel normal inside again.
With extensive experience working in the NHS at both Sheffield Hallamshire and Wythenshawe Hospitals, I set up The Food Treatment Clinic - offering both Skype and face to face consultations.
You can rest assured that my science based methods will get you the control over your symptoms that you need and help you regain your self-confidence.
In Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) I have a 91% success rate.
I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation, where we can discuss your digestive health problems in complete confidence and answer any further questions about my services, please feel free to complete the contact form and book your free consultation today.
Jo Strachan (September 2017) – client with PCOS
I followed the advice from Kirsten for the last 3 months, while it has been a rocky road, full of frustration (maybe on both our parts?? Lol) and some low points, there have also been some great points, like getting to grips with food and learning how my body works and of course, despite putting a few pounds on to begin with, I have so far managed to loose 12lbs.
Thanks to Kirsten I have managed to change my own attitude towards food, as well as to change habits for the better. Because this process was completely tailored to me, it was far easier to adjust, and I truly believe these changes are forever, no fad diet or a phase, but a new way of eating for the rest of my life! I like how it has been realistic and how Kirsten did not judge my bad days, acknowledging that we are all human and go off track now and again! If you want to change habits of a life time, help your health and do it in an honest and realistic way then Kirsten is the right help for you! No where else has managed to ‘get’ me and my condition (PCOS), that was until Kirsten, and I am SO pleased I invested in her service… here’s to the next 12lbs
Manchester, aged 27 (August 2017) – IBS sufferer
I started working with Kirsten in April this year after being diagnosed with IBS, and am now coming to the end of the FODMAP reintroduction stage. I found the FODMAP diet quite a complex process, and whilst I would have got my head around the do’s and don’t’s eventually, I really think I wouldn’t have been able to make such positive progress without Kirsten’s help, advice and support – and she gave lots. I am now pretty much symptom-free, and have barely had tummy ache since starting (it was once an almost constant consequence to most meals). I have been able to reintroduce most FODMAP groups, and I feel really glad to be in a position of informed choices, for which I’m very grateful for Kirsten’s input. It was especially helpful how Kirsten gave me bite-size goals to work on each week which built up over time – being a bit of an all-or-nothing person, I think this has meant I’ve been able to make a lifestyle change which might have not otherwise happened! So big big thanks!
