About me
I have always held a particular interest in food, nutrition and health, which is why I decided to embark on developing this passion further. In order to increase my knowledge on the subject I completed a three and a half year diploma part time at the British College of Nutritional Health (BCNH) and then decided to upgrade my diploma to a science degree in Nutrition and Professional Practice at Greenwich University.
Since qualifying I have worked as a nutritional practitioner with a special interest in weight management and women's health. I am also a registered member with both BANT (British Association of Nutritional Therapy) and CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).
A nutritional consultation involves a tailor made programme to meet individual requirements. Prior to the consultation, a client will be asked to complete a health questionnaire.
The actual consultation takes around one hour to complete. I offer a confidential assessment of how diet and lifestyle may be a contributing factor to various health concerns. I will then make dietary, supplementary and lifestyle recommendations. These recommendations are also written into a report that I will provide you with, within three days of our session. A follow up consultation taking around thirty minutes is recommended after four weeks to assess progress and to make any adjustments to your programme.
Laboratory testing is also available.
Training, qualifications & experience
I spent three and a half years completing a diploma in nutrition at the British College of Nutritional Health. I then decided to upgrade my diploma to a science degree at Greenwich university.
I have now had seven years experience in clinical practice where I have worked with a number of clients who have had various health concerns with extremely positive outcomes.
Member organisations
The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy is the professional body for Nutritional Therapists.
There are different BANT membership classes, including Full Member, Fellow Member and Student Member.
All BANT practitioners must have met the required standards of training, be fully insured and adhere to the BANT Code of Ethics and Practice.
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including massage, aromatherapy and nutrition.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Information about health conditions (*)
Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.
