About me

I specialise in working with gut issues, long covid, fatigue and other related conditions. I support clients in learning to listen to and trust their bodies again so they can get back to living life - equipped with the skills needed for true self care and sustainable recovery.

I am a BANT and CNHC registered Nutritional Therapist. I coined the term Mind-Body-Nutrition to describe the way I work.

Mind-Body-Nutrition is a holistic philosophy that nurtures the whole person, we cannot attend to one part without considering the whole. For example, before creating any nutritional recommendations I want to learn who you are, where you came from and what experiences shaped your beliefs and values. I want to hear about the relationship you have with food and your body so I can ascertain what is going to feel safe and accessible for you to move forward.

When your body doesn't function in the way it used to or in the way you wish that it would, life can feel incredibly challenging. You may feel resentful towards your body, frustrated with it, fearful of what might be going on or what your future might look like. It can be normal for many individuals to become extremely disconnected from their body because of chronic symptoms or conditions. Our bodies may also change shape or size through illness and this can be painful for many of us.

It is a deep rooted value of mine to help and support others. As a practitioner I do not claim to be the expert of other peoples bodies, but rather a listening ear, guide and mentor. I invite those I work with to build a more compassionate and attuned relationship with their bodies.

With each client I work with I bring in elements from my areas of expertise that I have developed throughout my personal and professional life. These include but are not limited to - Nutritional therapy, Naturopathy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Intuitive Eating including trauma informed mentoring, Health at Every Size and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

How I work looks different for every client I see, since each person is unique, has their own story and their own pathway to recovery.

Testimonials

(from individual clients and a course I teach on called The Fern Programme for Long covid support and recovery)

'I can’t tell you how much I got from that. I think I’ve buried a lot of issues for a long time and to work with someone that really knows how to listen and dispense appropriate, effective but compassionate advice is invaluable'  - Mark

‘Your session was wonderful, thank you so much for doing this. I learnt alot that I did not know otherwise, and it's nice to feel hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.’  - Lina F

'I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for the nutrition course and the extra information you sent. It’s been really helpful. My daughter has <fatigue related condition> and I took her to see a nutritionist but it was a bad experience but you have re-stored my faith in nutritionists. If only they were all like you.'  - Sian

‘Just wanted to say thank you for your session last week. I wasn’t even aware how much I had restricted my food and how it was developing into a stress pattern…. I've been eating much better this week.’  - Jacqueline
