About me

With so much conflicting advice around us, it can be difficult to know where to begin if you want to take control of your own health. You may be left with more questions than you started out with-

Which diet should you follow, which foods should you avoid,  which supplements can help my symptoms/condition and at what doses, which tests would help me and where do I get them?

As both a practicing Pharmacist and Nutritional Therapist I have the advantage of being able to evaluate healthcare from two distinct angles and provide you with safe and up-to-date evidence based information.

I can help you understand your conventional medications and how to get the best from them, evaluate your lab test results, advise you on healthy and balanced food choices, recommend safe effective supplements, advise on naturopathic techniques to support your symptoms and help you decide what functional testing you might benefit from (e.g. genetic tests, food sensitivity testing, hair mineral analysis, stool sampling etc)

Nutritional therapy can play a huge role in your future health and well-being, whatever symptoms or conditions you are currently living with.

I began my career in Pharmacy 17 years ago with the aim of helping people understand their medication and improve their quality of life.  As the years went by, I realised that many people were not enjoying good health, despite all the advances in modern medicine. This really hit home, when I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid eight years ago - I tried multiple diets, and various supplements which didn't really help my numerous symptoms. After much reading and research I embarked on a diploma in Nutritional Therapy and with a lot of experimentation I finally began to feel like my old self again.

Nutritional Therapy goes beyond 'treating' your symptoms! It is more than advising you what you should or shouldn't eat - It aims to identify the root cause(s) of illness. You didn't become unwell overnight but by removing any obstacles to recovery, your body can be encouraged to repair and you can feel better!

I offer comprehensive one-to-one consultations, either online or face to face from my home office near Yarm.

At your initial appointment we will discuss in detail, your symptoms, diet, lifestyle, medical history, test results and your healthcare goals. I may use a variety of diagnostic techniques and if necessary and/or desired may refer you to your GP or reputable laboratory for further testing. I will give you my advice and together we will agree a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan which will support your health and well being.

Finding the right therapist to work with is an important step -  if you would like more information, please arrange a free no obligation telephone call with me or find out a bit more about me on my website resolvenutrition.co.uk
