Felicia Jones BSc, Dip St Mgt, mBANT, CNHC
My approach is foremost about working with you in ways which are collaborative and focus on your priorities and needs. Having had my own health challenges, I recognise that you may have worked with, or consulted a number of medical and/or complementary practitioners before coming to me. That’s why I offer a free 15 minute consultation to learn more about your health concern, and to assess what you need and whether this service is right for you. It also serves to help you to decide how you want to proceed.
I have worked in nutritional and health support services for over 10 years. Prior to setting up my own practice, I worked within public health. This included working for an NHS Weight Management service, delivering community cookery classes, undertaking risk assessments and speaking on behalf of speicalist organisations, and researching and providing health information for Healthwatch and Age Watch.
I currently practice in Milton Keynes and Northampton.
Training, qualifications & experience
My nutrition degree is underpinned by a scientific, evidence-based practice which enables me to look beyond your symptoms, so that we can really address the underlying cause of your health issue. In addition, as a qualified Stress Management Trainer I am able to offer you stress management tools to help you with your stress levels, particularly when this is exacerbating your other symptoms.
I'm particularly passionate about and enjoy researching:
Ø Sleep problems
Ø Improving tiredness and creating greater vitality
Ø Low mood
Ø Stress reduction and improvement
These are common health issues which can cause particular distress. But in working to improve one area, other areas, in addition to improvements in overall general health and wellbeing may be seen.
Working together involves patience, and time to thoroughly investigate your health concern. It can also be challenging making changes, but you will not be alone. If your symptoms require, we can also discuss seeking further investigation through diagnostic testing.
I am a qualified Nutritional Therapist (BSc) and hold a Diploma in Stress Management Training, a Community Cookery Leader Award and a Foundation Level Practitioner Award in Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia (Chrysalis Effect).
In addition to practicing, I also keep my knowledge up to date by attending and undertaking additional training. This ensures that my work with you is evidence-based, relevant and scientifically accurate.
Areas of nutrition I deal with
I understand that this is a big investment for you. It may be that it's emotionally, time-wise or financially costly and because of this you may have reservations, particularly in knowing what's involved. To help, do take advantage of your 15 minute consultation and the opportunity talk through your concerns. It’s free and may help you get one step closer to knowing what to do next and to gaining clarity about how to start dealing with your health concern.
