Dietary Programmes

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Dietary treatment for IBS is very individual with people reacting to different foods and in different ways. For some making some dietary changes, including considering physical activity and stress and anxiety, may be sufficient. To support you with this two consultations will be enough costing you £80. For others trying the low FODMAP diet may be beneficial. This is where particular carbohydrate foods are taken out of your diet for about six weeks, and then re-introduced one by one to test for tolerance. Support will be given to guide you through the different stages of this exclusion diet. This part of the programme includes a mix of four 30 and 60 minute consultations over about four months.

For some people a selective low FODMAP diet may be more appropriate where just a few high FODMAP foods are restricted and then reintroduced to test for individual tolerance.

£250 in advance or £280 if paid in instalments.

£80 is required at the first consultation for all people. If it is decided to start the low FODMAP diet a further payment of £170 is required at the second consultation, or you can pay the remaining amount in instalments.

If you have already started the low FODMAP diet, but are worried that you are not following correctly or are confused about how to reintroduce FODMAPs, Elizabeth can guide you through the diet. £170 in advance or £200 if paid in instalments.

Weight Loss: moving away from dieting to lifestyle change

One-to-one support enables you to discuss openly your concerns about your eating and weight. The aim is to promote lifestyle change to improve your nutrition and health, feel better about yourself, and lose weight in a healthy, gradual and sustainable way. Elizabeth will help you to shift your focus away from dieting with its strict rules and banned foods, to having a healthier and happier relationship with food.

Elizabeth will help you to:

  • Shift your mindset away from dieting with its rigid rules and restrictions, and its associated feelings of guilt and shame. Elizabeth will not give you another diet to follow, but will support you to make goals around your eating and activity to help you achieve sustainable change.
  • Eat healthily to improve your nutrition for long term health. The focus is upon building a balanced, nutritious approach to your eating, but also to enable you to continue to eat for pleasure.
  • Build physical activity into your life to be enjoyable and a way of life rather than as a chore and something done short term.
  • Moving beyond a sole focus on body weight and weight loss to considering how changes to your eating and lifestyle can have other personal gains, such as improved sleep, increased self-confidence, healthier looking skin, and greater energy levels.

£80 covers your first two 60 minute consultations (to be paid at consultation 1). At consultation 2 you can then decide whether you would like further support. You can choose to add on consultations either singly or as a package of 4:

Single consultations: 30 minutes £35 and 60 minutes £45 (to be paid at each consultation).
Package of 4 consultations: 30 minutes each £120 or 60 minutes each £160 (to be paid at consultation 3).
