About me

client testimonials can be found below.

Working from my clinic in the spa town of Ilkley as well as in Leeds and online, I use Nutritional Science to identify triggers for ill health, understand what might be keeping you stuck, and create an evidence based therapeutic plan to restore you back to optimal health.

I believe that the body wants to work in synchronicity; each area influencing the other. Issues can arise when something knocks the body's natural rhythms out of sync; be it trauma, poor diet, injury, stress, deficiencies, high toxic load, or genetics.

I work realistically with clients, implementing science based interventions that won't disrupt your social life or limit your experiences and food choices drastically. We don't all need to be on a raw food vegan diet to attain optimal health!

I am a firm believe that food, and life itself, is to be enjoyed. Nutritional Therapy should enhance this experience, not limit it.

I came to atavia for help in treating chronic indegestion and acid reflux. Ive been suffering from these conditions for about 18-24 months and they were becoming so bad it was affecting my everyday life. After seeing countless doctors to no avail my friend recommended i see a nutritional therapist to see if it would help and she recommended atavia. I had 1 consultation in which atavia advised and recommended i change and cutout certain things in my diet that might be causing my symptoms which i did. Within a week of atavias suggestions my symptoms had massively improved. I found atavia to be professional, honest, and straight talking id definitely recommend her to someone suffering the same symptoms as me.

Glynn, 36

I came to see Atavia following struggling with an eating disorder and gastrointestinal problems for over a year. My relationship with food was absolutely horrendous, I was under-eating dangerously and absolutely terrified of every food.

With even the first session with Atavia I felt heard, listened to and fully supported at all times and as the weeks and months have passed with Atavia this feeling has only increased!

Atavia has honestly turned my life around, she has taught me the importance of each food group, reassured me constantly when I’ve struggled with food, congratulated me along my journey and supported me every step of the way. Her meal plan was completely catered to my goals of weight lifting, slowly increasing my food intake and gaining a healthy relationship with food with my vegan diet completely accounted and catered for (she even included relaxation techniques, yoga and positive affirmations too!).

The meal plan that Atavia made for me met my goals completely, now having a healthy relationship, smashing my weight training and actually having energy and happiness like never before. Even within the first week of the plan, my symptoms were reducing massively.

On the days I have struggled, Atavia has always been a text away and has reassured me and supported me and eased my worry beyond words, and I honestly cannot thank her enough for that.

Atavia is absolutely lovely and completely client-focused and if I could chose any nutrionist, I would go back to her every single time, she has truly turned my life around.

I cannot recommend Atavia enough if you want a fully supportive, empathetic, friendly and all round incredible person to support you on any journey. She will dedicate her time to you like no other, ease your worries and support you every step of the way. Her plans are detailed, non-restrictive and completely catered to your own wants and needs, likes and dislikes, with supplements that have helped me unbelievable amounts. Her knowledge of food, impact of stress and nutritional science has been unbelievably detailed and complete, increasing my knowledge immensely.

Thank you Atavia, so much for the last month and a bit with me, my life has gone from being terrified to eat to looking forward to every single meal of the day knowing that my body needs love and care and I truly could not have made this journey without you. I now have energy to weight lift and I am building muscle comfortably, but most importantly, I feel so empowered to continue this healthy relationship with food, with all the knowledge and support Atavia has provided me with along the way.

Ellie, 19

I cannot recommend highly enough the thoughtful, sensitive and caring service that I received from Atavia. Through the thorough consultation and follow-up sessions I was able to understand my nutritional needs and deficiencies and how I needed to tackle them. I appreciated the ongoing support which kept me on track and was confident of a professional and confidential service.

If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.

Additional information

I offer a range of services.

Initial Consultations
Initial consultations involve completing a comprehensive health questionnaire to identify bodily systems under stress and nutrient imbalances, as well as an in depth face to face or telephone assessment, and an individual Nutritional Therapy Plan, alongside any suggestions for supplements or functional testing

Follow Up Consultations
Follow ups involve completing a re evaluation of the health goals you initially presented with, as well as any change in symptoms and challenges or improvements you have noticed. It also involves an appointment to discuss these more in depth. This will then be followed by any further recommendations in an updated Nutritional Therapy Plan.

Nutritional Coaching Sessions
Nutritional Coaching can be useful between follow up appointments, as it provides a point of contact for additional support and maintained motivation throughout your plan.
