About me

I'm Alex Gear, a London based registered nutritional therapist, nutritionist and health coach. With my love of food and enthusiasm for wellbeing, I help people make long term improvements to their health. I am passionate about sharing with others how rewarding it is to live healthily, to feel like you are really thriving, not just surviving. My ultimate goal is for each of my clients to be the best version of their self.

I follow the principles of Functional Medicine so therefore my aim is to get to the root cause of my clients’ issues. I treat everyone as an individual; each client is different with their own unique set of circumstances. My principle is simple: remove the bad, put in the good. Ultimately I believe the body has the power to heal itself, ‘it just needs the tools to do it’.

I have been involved in the food industry for the past 20 years. Prior to working as a nutritional therapist, I have had considerable experience as a chef, cookery teacher and lecturer. During this time, my underlying passion focused on health and nutrition. My vast experience in the food industry gives me a deeper understanding of menu planning which enables me to provide clients with the tools that they need to achieve their health goals.

I would like to offer you a free 20 minute Skype consultation which will give you the chance to discuss your health issues and requirements with me, and for us to establish the best way forward. Please do email me or call to arrange a mutually convenient time.

My clients have enjoyed incredible results

She is inspiring and so professional with a supportive, empathetic and caring approach which has really helped me feel more positive about my health”. Michelle C, Teacher.

I feel like a new person. Before I started working with Alex, I was totally exhausted. My skin was very red and inflamed and I was completely overwhelmed with my symptoms. I was at a loss and didn’t know where to get help. I was very low in myself and this was really affecting my quality of life. My energy levels have dramatically increased and my skin has improved significantly. I’m feeling so much better in myself”. Jane, Housewife

“Would highly recommend Alex. I started working with her in December and have seen great benefits! So fantastic working with Alex She has really helped me”. Ben, City trader

“I approached Alex as I was feeling lethargic all the time. Alex has helped me think smarter about my eating patterns and the combination of foods I eat. Alex has a very relaxed approach. She is extremely knowledgeable and honest. I would highly recommend her”. Charlotte, Mother of 4.

“Alex taught me how to eat well and lose weight. Her plan really worked. Before I started working with Alex, I was overweight and I was an emotional eater. Alex really listened to me, put me at ease and educated me about the importance of healthy eating. Alex taught me how to eat and showed me how easy it can be.  I felt really motivated”. Alba C. Journalist.

"Alex is very knowledgeable and her thorough approach means she really gets to the bottom of what is going on. Alex has taught me how to build on my existing healthy diet, broadening what I eat to give me the energy and nutrients required for my physical training.  Alex has really helped me to balance my blood sugar levels, my energy levels have now stabilised and I can concentrate at work more. I am really feeling the benefits and I can now train harder in my workouts”. Isaac B, Musician.

I strongly believe in evidence based nutritional therapy and I'm committed to furthering my knowledge. As part of my Continuing Professional Development, I regularly attend conferences and seminars to gain further insight into specialised health topics and keep thoroughly up to date.
