Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Nutritional Therapy (DipION)

I undertook my 4 years training at the renowned Institute For Optimum Nutrition in London.

I’ve been trained to use a patient centred body systems approach. I will spend time with you, listening to your health history and looking at the interactions between genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors (such as sleep, relaxation, exercise, movement, nutrition and stress) which may be influencing your symptoms and health conditions.

I love to analyse a client’s case to help identify the potential underlying reasons for their current health status. I find that being able to give a client an understanding of what is going on and what may have triggered their symptoms can assist them in implementing their health optimisation plan.

I also regularly attend conferences and post graduate educational events enabling me to apply the most recent advances in nutritional science in my clinical practice, visit www.thehealthheroinenutritionclinic.com to read more.

Some Client Feedback

"I thought I had a reasonably healthy lifestyle and diet – I did however recognise that I had numerous bad habits, which over the years I had tried and failed to overcome. My coaching was a revelation and highlighted many things I didn’t understand about nutrition. Each session provided practical notes tailored to my food challenges, and listing commitments I had made. I changed my view on what I saw as good and bad food and quickly experienced the benefits of changing my bad habits; lethargic feelings disappeared, I had boundless energy, I lost weight without trying.

The result – I feel fantastic!"

Susan Nobbs

"As a busy self-employed person juggling work, family, friends I always felt there was never enough hours in the day. I regularly felt burnt out and didn’t sleep well.  During my sessions with Aileen, we discussed in detail my lifestyle including exercise, nutrition and patterns of behaviour and the areas that I needed to focus on to get my sleep pattern back on track.  I’m deeply grateful to her for the kind way in which she transferred her knowledge and insight to me and can truly say “I loved my sessions with The Health Heroine”.

Ann Forster

"The Zest4life programme made such sense to me that I now consider the nutritional value of every meal that I eat.  Of course, I am not perfect and I have days and events weekends when I go 'off plan' but it is always in my mind what I should be doing, I feel much more positive about the food I eat and in the last 2 months I have not had any processed food or pre-prepared meals, I haven't bought any biscuits, sweets or cakes and when I feel in need of a treat, a couple of squares of dark chocolate does the trick....... honest.

I wanted to become slimmer but wanted to be healthier at the same time and I feel that this programme has helped to achieve this".

Helen

"I lost weight and inches on the Zest4life programme, however, the focus on caring about myself and living well, rather than losing weight helped me to commit to this programme.  I'm now enjoying my food and I feel much happier with myself".

Jo

"The High Flying Energy Workshop was a breath of fresh air and forces you to remind yourself that YOU have to come first. Beautifully presented and delivered workshop".

Petya

"Aileen really knows her stuff and encourages you to believe that you can eat healthily without being miserable. Her real life strategies, sense of humour and wisdom help you stick to the good stuff because it is fun, makes sense and is easy".

Nancy Radford

"I was also lacking any desire to exercise which led to low motivation around most aspects. Using The Health Heroine Development Plan, I was able to quite quickly; lose weight, feel less tired and feel more motivated for exercise

I would recommend Aileen’s programme to anyone.   Thanks for helping me achieve some of my goals. I feel I can use the plan going forward and have a clear pathway to weight loss".

David Forster

"Great having someone teaching you who has walked the talk and been there herself - gave me more trust in the experience.  The teaching kept true to life and everything was realistic/doable – with great explanations and encouragement throughout".

Lisa Brown

"I had been struggling with trying to lose weight for a number of years.  My energy levels were non-existent and I felt tired. I lost weight, my energy levels increased and I felt less tired.  It has really made me focus on what I want in relation to my health and wealth loss and has given me the tools to progress with this to reach my targets".

Lynne

"If you are not already considering working with a Nutritional Therapist then Aileen is a very good choice.  She is very approachable and knows her stuff! I have had GREAT benefits to my digestion and, therefore, my health and wellbeing, from my work with her".

Julie

"I found Aileen to be very knowledgeable and definitely prepared to go the extra mile for an individual to help them understand themselves".

Lesley

"Whilst working with Aileen, I did lose some weight but more importantly, I feel I have more control of my appetite and have no cravings for the wrong foods now.  I also have more energy and my skin has improved. I decided to work with Aileen because she is not only well qualified but in addition she is a true professional, enthusiastic about her services and committed to her clients".
