I don’t want to struggle… but I want to lose a stone this month

I hear this a lot from the women I talk to, they want to see quick results but they don’t want the struggle.

And you know what, that’s a normal way of human thinking. Yep, we don’t want things to be hard, following the path of least resistance is a real thing! Whether it is our relationship, work, our weight – we don’t want that uphill struggle.

And we’ll try to avoid it at all costs.

Now I would like to share a quick analogy (love those) with you; imagine you’ve broken your leg – and now you need to go to the doctor to reset that leg.

The reset has to be done while you are wide awake, no drugs, no anesthetic and it really hurts. You are in this excruciating pain and agony!

You are already in so much pain and you know the reset will be extremely painful. So, what you decide then and there is – I am going home and I will let it heal by itself. The reset is too painful, you just can’t do it!

So instead of those few minutes of the excruciating pain of resetting that you should have gone through… you did not! Now you have set yourself up for a lifetime of struggle.

Even the simplest things like going up and down the stairs, getting up or down from your chair, walking to the shop and back are made that much harder for you because you've not done the reset.

So now, because we are in pain (weight struggle) we are a little bit broken, which is ok - it happens to all of us... all we want is a quick fix. Something fast and easy – and definitely, we don’t want anything like that leg reset.

So, we go and grab something that promises a quick fix… diet pills, detox juicing or we cut out all the carbs from our diet… some of us go even further with gastric band surgery etc. Quick is the key word here!

But what you are actually doing is avoiding lifestyle change – and you know that’s the reset but you are still trying to avoid it.

And what happens while you are hopping in between those different diets? You are not only losing and putting weight back, plus some extras as your metabolic rate slow down, you’re also damaging your psyche – your mental state - because every time you fail you feel like s*** that little bit more… you get beaten that little bit more mentally.

And now everything is that much harder because of how you’re feeling mentally. You won’t be choosing better food and you won’t be finding time to cook because you are in that 'failure' – state of mind.

Or even worse, that ‘all or nothing' mindset sets in and you actually stop caring about what you eat and how much altogether! But the pain is still there.

Please note: it’s not just you that cannot operate properly from this failure state…no one can – it sucks!

But still… we want to skip the struggle! We want to skip the reset - but that’s wherethe magic is. That’s where transformation happens – this is where change happens…that’s where permanent weight loss happens.

From my experience – if you are committed and ready, reset can happen really fast... you would be surprised! And when that happenseverything in your life gets easier and much less painful. And you can finally fix that broken leg.
