A fun and interactive workshop for kids age 7-11 years. Aimed at both fussy eaters and varied eaters who would like to explore new foods in a fun setting. We are starting off with fruits and in future workshops will get creative with other foods. Parents stay for the duration and can enjoy a cup of tea whilst looking over the beautiful South Downs.
"There are strong links between academic learning, mental health and nutrition. Research shows that a child is more likely to experience calm and rationale feelings when eating a healthy and balanced diet” (mentalhealth.org.uk)
Easier said than done! I know, having been there with a very fussy eater, I fully understand the frustration of selective eating and worked long and hard to over come it. On the back of this I’ve put together a set of workshops to encourage kids to feel calm around foods and to develop a healthy relationship with natural foods.
Fabulous for fussy and confident eaters. We consider fruit and vegetables not only by taste but by smell and texture. We explore whether we can taste colour and think about why. Children are not obliged to taste as the emphasis is on investigation and play. We incorporate Maths, Science and Food Tech! In past workshops parents have been surprised by their child’s growth in confidence around foods in just the first session.
There will be time at the end of the session for parents to ask any questions and to seek advice.
Hosted by Belle Amatt ( BSc Nutritional Medicine ), lecturer in Naturopathic Medicine. Belle has worked on Child Obesity Schemes and in a private Eating Disorders clinic.
