Nutrition and lifestyle to support PCOS
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that prevents the ovaries from working properly. Symptoms include irregular periods, reduced fertility, acne and weight problems.
The condition is said to affect up to 10% of women aged between 15 and 50 and there is a high incidence rate of approximately 75% in women who have ovulation problems.
The women’s health workshop is a series of events carried out by qualified nutritional therapists. We will be sharing our knowledge as trained professionals. This will be run by professionals who have seen improvements with a number of female clients, including personal experience with women’s health issues.
The presentation on PCOS will cover the following topics:
1. The endocrine system and hormones that affect women’s health.
2. Hormone disruptors - foods and environmental factors that leads to an imbalance in your hormones.
3. Nutritional aims including diet, lifestyle and supplements.
4. Foods that help to balance hormones specifically focusing on insulin for weight-loss
You will leave the workshop feeling supported about what lies ahead. You will receive a protocol to follow, laying down simple steps to change your diet and lifestyle, protocols that we have used to support women with PCOS, hormonal balancing recipes and an idea of what supplements can be taken (supplements can only be taken after a consultation with a qualified professional) to support you.
