Menopause rest - Pilates and nutrition
Are you navigating the changes that come with the peri/menopause and looking for ways to feel your best? Join us for an empowering two and half hours.
Feel refreshed and inspired on International Women's Day. Increase your understanding of how you can affect your body's experience of menopause.
Start to explore how to use pilates techniques and nutrition awareness to support and nurture your body and mind during the peri-menopause and menopause.
You'll get two workshops with health specialists:
- Holly Shanahan, physiotherapist and APPI instructor and
- Aliya Porter, registered nutritionist.
Holly Shanahan, a local physiotherapist is a pilates instructor trained with the Australian physiotherapy pilates institute. She has been providing pilates instruction for over 10 years.
Holly will guide you through an introduction to pilates and the connection between breath and the pelvic floor leading into a short sequence of exercises that you can use independently at home. Helping you with the management of the symptoms of the peri/menopause.
Aliya, a local registered nutritionist with over 18 years of experience, will provide a workshop covering nutrition fundamentals to help you maintain health and relieve peri/menopause symptoms and impact without chaining you to the kitchen or breaking the bank.
What's included?
- Two workshops of 70 minutes.
- A short break to gather refreshments, a drink and biscuits will be provided.
- A 1" and 3" pad for the duration of the pilates workshop plus other required equipment.
- Digital exercise programme to support the exercise sequence taught during the pilates workshop so you can keep practising at home.
- Digital handout to support you to eat well during and after menopause.
